I think Alonso will get it. I'll describe it for the experts....

Great through ball from Alonso to Finnan near byeline and inside box. First time cross by Finnan and one touch tap in from Kuyt.

Can anybody with the experience confirm the Gerrard KC from previous 'case law'?

Gerrard passed to Bellamy who hit the post, Gonzalez netting rebound. Does the post negate the Gerrard KC?

PS No offence to jamesalprendi intended (I've no idea of how knowledgable you are re KCs)

If a goalkeeper does not have control of the ball and parries a shot or drops a cross or the ball rebounds off the woodwork, the attacking player shooting or crossing the ball receives the Key Contribution if a goal directly ensues.
Its a KC for me...

That would apply to Bellamy - still not sure where it leaves the SGKC

Hmmm. I know what you're saying but imagine Gerrard crosses it into the defence, Bellamy one touch lay off to Gonzalez who hits it straight into the next. You'd give the assist the Gerrard there as well wouldnt you?

I'm going for a no KC for Gerrard - then if he gets one I'll be chuffed!

Would be interesting to hear from anyone who remembers a KC being given in a similar situation before.

It's a nailed on KC (going by reports of the goal, I've not seen it).

If you want a case study: Fulham's winner at St James' Park a fortnight ago. Routledge corner to McBride who heads onto bar, ball bounces down and Bocanegra puts it in. Two KCs given.

Ishmal Miller's shot was "half blocked" and it fell to Samaras.

So no, Barton didnt get an assist.
