Re: TFF World Cup 2018
Anyone able to tell me which of Cavani or Suarez I should pick? Cavani on pens (I think?) and looked dangerous from distance the other day, but Suarez getting into better positions with chances (even though he couldn't hit a barn door). One of those where whichever you choose is wrong..

Both?
Wouldn’t surprise me at all if they both got a couple of goals and maybe the odd assist against today’s opponents.

Re: TFF World Cup 2018
I was going Cavani, especially after game 2 barnfoor issues, but bookies suggest Suarez more likely (first and anytime scorer (lower) odds)

Re: TFF World Cup 2018
This had crossed my mind, but surely SA won't be as bad again? That said I've not exactly covered myself in glory with striker choices lately, so maybe it's the way to go!

Gone with 5 transfers , 8 left.
Uruguay heavy, if it pays off great otherwise it is only a game.

Bold, and makes me feel better about my transfer usage. Gone with Cavani. Set pieces swung it. You know what'll happen now..

Also a good future move, keep 1 for round 3 then ron (uru play before por) and rotate the other through round 2.

1-0 Suarez scores....murf wrote:I was going Cavani, especially after game 2 barndoor issues, but bookies suggest Suarez more likely (first and anytime scorer (lower) odds)
So did I listen to myself (Cavani) or the bookies (Suarez)?
Neither - I listened to Maldini!

Not watching this game, radio suggests Gimenez might have 'eyebrowsed' the cross onto Suarez. Did he?

Re: TFF World Cup 2018
Was all set on bringing in a French forward (and the maybe Messi later) but neither is exactly exciting me. France starting with Giroud, Mbappe and Griezman (all of whom want to play through the middle) I reckon they're imploding as a squad. I couldn't pick the correct one of out of 2 uraguayans yesterday. No hope out of 3. Going to leave it I think..(even if Giroud is tempting!)

Re: TFF World Cup 2018
The 2nd round of games tend to be quite tight as teams are often protecting their 3 points or not good enough to score. The 3rd round can be more expansive when teams really need to win. Not too many dead games this time hopefully.
Saurez and Cavani don't seem to be in form but the Uraguay defence is cheap and cheerful ☺

Re: TFF World Cup 2018
It's all gone Pete Tong for me - I decided I was so far off in my private league to chase the Golden Boot (internally) and even though been doing that for about a week was 3 goals behind leader - today (okay technically yesterday as its 2am now) I fell back to sleep and when I woke up again Brazil game was already 15mins in - wanted Neymar should of done before bed - but as game went was feeling quite smug as injury time hit and still 0-0 at 90mins then the double wammy.
Later I couldn't decide whether to chase that lost goal and bring in Mitrovic (Serbia) - decided if in doubt leave out - as starting to run short of transfers (I think) then what 5mins in boom another goal for said player I was deliberating over but opted against - just checked my league and now I'm 4 goals behind the leader in GB table but had I been on the ball and done as I planned would only be 2 behind!
Thanks for the advice - may try again with a spare credit or two come the knock out stages as someone said there was a separate prize.
All good fun regardless.... Time to go look at today's games BEFORE BED and make early moves perhaps.

Re: TFF World Cup 2018
Unfortunate sleep related error Blue - next time just remember the coffee / pills etc
These fantasy games are all about planning and discipline - which is where I usually fall down. This time I'm being good (ish) relatively speaking - sticking with the same 4 Uraguay defenders helps keep things simple. Should have 5-10 transfers left on Monday which should be OK for my 6 a side teams.
Using the fantasy cricket to satisfy the transfer cravings.

I'm in the top 200, but with only 4 transfers left i'm going to drop like a stone.

Re: TFF World Cup 2018
I've got a decent Uruguay block, we've had the back to back clean sheets so it's a question of whether I take the easy points with England now or hold on to them for the Russia game and hope for triple cleans sheets.

Re: TFF World Cup 2018
Ha - good question.
I'm not convinced Engerland will keep a clean sheet though. All that attacking in the heat. We should win but I'll stick with the Uruguay. Gone for Sterling, Kane and Tripps
Panama get minus points for the singing
Come on you Spurs / Yorkies
Expect lots of fouls

My England block is my only team without Kane. Typical.

Re: TFF World Cup 2018
Will Kane get a KC for the the stones goal where he headed to sterling whose header was blocked, or will the keeper save negate the second KC?

Really don’t think Trippier should lose clean sheet when he’d been subbed. Poor rule, should just be like FPL imo.

Well done, c2k4.
But that's not a 2 for 1 - just a use of transfers.

Wow, so I made the right decision, held on to Uruguay got the 3rd clean sheet (albeit only 3) then switch to Portugal block and get screwed by ref in the last minute
