The Gameweek 36 Transfer Debate/Poll
An average score this week saw La Republica treading water in the Overall Rankings in the 28K range, with our two West Hammers providing value for money while the 2 Liverpool defensive lads proved their worth through consistancy.
So what would you have done this week, Members, as we target the Top 10,000?
Who stays? Who goes? You decide!
Our team is here.
Poll to start on Wednesday evening.
Poll now open until Midnight, Friday.
EDIT: I've put up 2 Gilberto -> Carricks instead of a Gilberto -> Essien.
Please vote for Gilberto -> Essien 'by hand' below.

I think Gilberto should be replaced but I don't know who by, as my three main choices all play in Europe midweek (Scholes, Giggs, Essien). Any of these 3 would still leave enough money for Adebayor -> Berbatov/McCarthy.
I'll go for Essien on the understanding that the choice switches to Scholes and then Giggs in the event of injury.

problem with essien is that if carvalho is still out, essien wil be in defence - meaning unlikely to score any extra points. man utd will have to come out firing at everton as their defence is in tatters .... hence would err towards scholes or giggsflyingkillercob wrote:I'll go for Essien on the understanding that the choice switches to Scholes and then Giggs in the event of injury.

I'm not convinced that we need 3 playing subs at this stage in the season. I'd rather see us bring in 2xgwers for WK 37, myself.
I'm just looking at who we will probably want to play then:
Reina (v FU)
Carragher, Carvalho, Samba
Ronaldo, Mokoena,
Drogba.
Likely subs: Lucketti, Noble, ?
Possible sales:
Sun (v MU)
Pros: Dirt cheap def playing in midfield.
Cons: Doesn't score much. Plays TH in GW38.
Gilberto (v CH):
Pros: Reasonable form.
Cons: Failing to finish. Faces CH.
Plays PO (a) in GW38.
Gerrard (a) v FU:
Pros: It's Stevie Gerrard. Plays CA (h) in GW38.
Cons: It's Stevie Gerrard. Can be FF gold or FF lead. Expensive.
Adebayor (h) v CH:
Pros: Has looked promising and finally scored last week.
Cons: Faces CH.
Plays PO (a) in GW38.
Zamora (h) v BW:
Pros: In form and fighting. In with a shout of a goal in any match. Cheap.
Cons: Faces MU (a) in GW38
I think it is very hard to predict clean sheets in the doubles. Therefore, I don't want to see us invest in any teams' defence.
I'd like to see us play 3-4-3 or 3-5-2.
This would make Sun the third sub.
Of the midfielders I think Gilberto is the weakest link overall.
Of the forwards I think Zamora is the weakest link overall.
Of the two, I'd prefer to lose Gilberto this week.
Of the 4 2xgw teams, I like TH's run in best; MI (a), CA (a) & BR (h), MC (h).
Jenas has shown some good form of late, with an assist and a goal in his last 2 EPL games. At 6.6 he would boost our bank.
Gilberto -> Jenas = +2.5m in the bank.
In GW 37 I will propose Zamora -> McCarthy, Kalou, Keane or Roberts.
Noble -> Bentley or to Smith would be an alternatives.
That's just the single transfers. Doubles or triples could see us bring in McCarthy & Berbatov for Adebayor & Zamora, for instance!
In summary, I repeat:
Gilberto -> Jenas = +2.5m in the bank!

It isn't your fault, fkc, it's mine - bold is not mandatory.flyingkillercob wrote:Maybe my Gilberto Essien was meant to be one of them? Sorry for not putting it in bold
Sorry.
As someone has voted (can't think who ) the best I can suggest is that all Gilberto -> Essien votes be submitted by hand below.
The two 'Carrick' polls will be added together if needs be.

To keep this in perspective, the goal JENAS scored last Saturday came in the 94th minute, prior to which,to quote the match report:Flyman wrote: Jenas has shown some good form of late, with an assist and a goal in his last 2 EPL games.
"Jenas was, without doubt, the fans' choice to make way for the men on Tottenham's bench, until in the 94th minute he scored with a 30 yard speculative shot of the type that often redeems him on days when he's been underwhelming. Best not to rely on him getting one every week though ".....end of quote
GILBERTO,Arsenal's penalty taker, faces the not so mighty FULHAM at HOME on Sunday, whilst JENAS travels AWAY to face Middlesborough, who held Man Utd to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford last Sat.
Man Utd's CARRICK , an alternative suggested swop for GILBERTO,faces EVERTON away.
I'm not convinced that this week is a good time to sell GILBERTO for either JENAS or CARRICK.
As the poll choices are limited,I'll probably therefore vote GERRARD > LAMPARD
