No double 7x for anyone (as Spain let 99% of us down) but a couple of triple-entry teams did manage 28-19-17 - 64 points must be close to a record for one matchday.

Wow, 2nd in the FISO league, that's a surprise after Norway U21 spoilt an almost-7xW for me! :D

Not yet.
forestfan wrote:Incidentally would there be an extra point for a double hat-trick, which Podolski was one away from achieving?
Yes, I think 6 goals should deserve a special bonus ... wonder if we'll ever see it happen.
forestfan wrote:... a couple of triple-entry teams did manage 28-19-17 - 64 points must be close to a record for one matchday.
I remember our very own Badabing got two 7 timers and an 18 pointer but I'm not too sure if it was all in 1 matchday or if it was from consecutive matchdays.

Well played Jeffers, 10 games in and an average of over 16. 8-)

If anybody is having a go at set 3 this week it might be worth waiting until after the Tranmere v Bristol City game has played tonight!

I was seriously considering set 3 too, thankfully I stuck with set 1 cos my set 3 picks would have scored about 6 points too! :D

I think I've gained a point on Jeffers in the FISO league too, thanks to my deliberately 'different' 7th choice of PSV doing better than the 'popular pick' Inter.

That's true, but the odd thing for me is that I picked 3 sets from League One early on this season, and scored 14, 10 and 16 - not bad! :D

Well, I suppose if you can make lower league sets into winners then you've got an advantage over most of us!

Tough decision for me this week anyway - either sacrifice the FA Cup (which I'm not a paid player for this season) by sitting out, or go for possibly the toughest Premiership set I've seen with no "bankers" due to the big four all playing each other?

I'm joint top of my division and should be fairly safe in a promotion spot given the number of inactive teams in higher divisions, but still an interesting scenario to think about.

Not sure a 13.33 average is good though.

Chose the tactical sit-out today to target the Division 5 title, if all this week's sets produce poor average scores it will probably have paid off.

Two of my main rivals appear to have dropped plenty of points already so looking good so far...

You also had to forfeit your place in the FA cup comp, but if your priorities are to win the D5 title then it looks like a good move, so long as the 'easy looking' midweek games go to plan .... there shouldn't be too many shock results in the Carling Cup.

If I'd paid for this season would have probably made a different decision!

Another factor in favour of the Carling Cup sets - the advantages of cup games that are decided on the night came up in another discussion, any draws worth 1 point are replaced by penalty shoot-outs which will on average get you 1.5 points.

I wish.

My second 6 in a week  Out of both Lucky 7 cups and the FISO cup makes it a hat-trick. I would concentrate on the league but I've gone from an outside bet for the title to fending off relegation :(

All Champions Cup & Loyalty Cup teams are entered, but here's a last shout for any of you other FISOers that haven't entered for this midweek yet.

The Carling Cup fixtures look easy enough, so it could be another high scoring one. The only thing that may put some of you off is that the Carling Cup games are low priority for most Premier teams, so beware of weakened teams and a few shock results. I think Man City and Spurs were guilty of letting quite a few of us down this time last year. :!:

Not looking good for a lot of the higher division sides so far! Isn't surprising really if they rest half their first choice players, sadly I think this cup has run its course.

Come on Everton, sort it out, I want to watch the poker...
