Lucky 7's Season 10

Post by Lucky7s »

Lucky 7's Fantasy Football is about to start Season 10. It's a simple game to play and it's FREE, but there are no prizes but lots of pride to play for. It takes very little of your time and you can join in at anytime, but obviously now is an ideal time to start playing.

How to play:
All you have to do is pick 7 teams from 10 football fixtures that you think will earn you the most points. You can choose from either of 3 sets of 10 fixtures (when available), 1 set of 7 selections = 1 game played. There are 2 matchdays a week, weekend and midweek so the fixtures cover a wide range of games including EPL - Conference, English and Euro cup comps, Internationals and other major Euro club leagues. Each season will last for 10 weeks (20 matchdays). Your team will score 3pts for every winner you pick, 1pt for a draw and if you pick 7 winners you'll get an added 7pts bonus. You also get a bonus point for any hat-tricks scored by a player from the team you picked. That's all there is to it, as easy as picking your lottery numbers.

Any new teams that join will be added to Division 6 and your objectives should include trying to work your way up to the Premier League - promotion and relegation takes place at the end of each season (4 up, 4 down).

If you start before Matchday 3 your team will also be included in the 1st round of an additional FA Cup knockout competition to add a bit of extra interest. There are also 2 more additional Cup competitions to play for IF your team finishes high enough in the table to qualify. All team acheivements are recorded and updated at the end of each season and is easily available to view on the sites growing History and Honours section.

If you have any questions/comments about the game or website let me know and I'll get back to you.

For the Lucky 7's website - http://www.luckysevens.co.uk

... and exclusively for the FISO players:
the FISO League table - http://www.luckysevens.co.uk/fisoleague.php
Well done Nashy Gnashers - Season 9 FISO league winners

If there are any FISO teams not listed in the FISO League, post your team name and I'll add it in.

Merry christmas and a prosperous new year to you all.

The submission forms for midweek Mdy 2 and weekend Mdy 3 are onsite now. Don't forget the Mdy 2 selections will also determine scores for the Champions Cup and Loyalty Cup GAME 1 of the group stage and the Mdy 3 selections will also determine your scores for the FA Cup 1st round.

Yep, as usual I didn't read the Email ( I read the post on here ), matchday one has come and gone...looks like quite a few missed this.

Do you think you could come round and explain it verbally each week to me, it's the only way I'm going to keep up. At least it's not thrown my Champions Cup chances.

I know, commandment one etc etc...

Lol Spencer that's why I send out the emails, you are supposed to read them  I try to keep them brief and to the point.

Anyway, thank goodness for FISO, you'd better get your Mdy 2's in before the deadline at 7pm on Tuesday 27 Dec.

Just one question Ian. Why did the submissions have to be in on Tuesday when all the games are on Wednesday?

It's because there are normally games played on a Tuesday night and to give people time to get their entries in for the coming weekend. I did think about changing for this midweek, perhaps with hindsight I should have changed it to Wednesday as all games are being played tonight.
The only consolation is we're all in the same boat. (Lessons learnt for next time - if no Tuesday games the deadline will switch to the Wednesday)

I have a question Ian.

This Saturday was the first FA Cup game, agreed?

I had a week to make up so decided to play 2 selections. Because of the cup, I selected first from the Championship games, believing these would be those used for the FA Cup. But, I see the second set I selected (Prem) have been taken as the FA Cup ones. Why?

Here is the section about this on the FAQs and Rules page:
http://www.luckysevens.co.uk/faqrules01.php#moresets
Submitting more than 1 SET and in a Cup competition

If you submit more than 1 SET of selections and your team is also involved in a cup competition on that Matchday, use the textbox (at the bottom of the submission form) to tell me which SET number you wish to use for your Cup point scores. If you do not express your preference, SET 1 (if used) will determine your cup scores, otherwise it will be SET 2.
So in future if you specify your prefered set I will use them, otherwise I will go by the above.

It looks like 14pts might just be enough to get you through, there are only 9 teams left to be updated when the set 2 scores are updated a little later on.

Do you think it's my age? I'm seriously worried about consistantly ballsing things up.

Nevermind, at least the Specialone's game is hotting up nicely. Pretty close between the 3 of us at the moment I think.

You haven't exactly ballsed it up (yet) but I am beginning to worry about you

Yes I have the dilemna of who to bring in as starman in Specialones challenge now Owen has got himself injured again, let alone I'll be missing half my team through them playing on Tue 3rd and Wed 4th, oh well it was nice being top for a short while. (At least McBride didn't score today! :D )

Yes, I too have noticed the Lucky 7's website has been playing up a bit recently, sorry for any inconvenience.

I believe my webhosts have been doing some alterations to the server and I would imagine they thought there would be less load over the new year period, but a bit of prior notice would have been nice.
Their hosting service is great VFM, but their customer service is appaling. I guess you can't have it all. :(

Btw at the moment, all seems to be working fine again.
