Lucky 7's Season 9

Post by Lucky7s »

Lucky 7's Fantasy Football is about to start Season 9. It's a simple game to play and it's FREE, but there are no prizes but lots of pride to play for. It takes very little of your time and you can join in at anytime, but obviously now is an ideal time to start playing.

How to play:
All you have to do is pick 7 teams from 10 football fixtures that you think will earn you the most points. You can choose from either of 3 sets of 10 fixtures (when available), 1 set of 7 selections = 1 game played. There are 2 matchdays a week, weekend and midweek so the fixtures cover a wide range of games including EPL - Conference, English and Euro cup comps, Internationals and other major Euro club leagues. Each season will last for 10 weeks (20 matchdays). Your team will score 3pts for every winner you pick, 1pt for a draw and if you pick 7 winners you'll get an added 7pts bonus. You also get a bonus point for any hat-tricks scored by a player from the team you picked. That's all there is to it, as easy as picking your lottery numbers.

Any new teams that join will be added to Division 6 and your objectives should include trying to work your way up to the Premier League - promotion and relegation takes place at the end of each season (3 up, 3 down).

If you start before Matchday 3 your team will also be included in the 1st round of an additional FA Cup knockout competition to add a bit of extra interest. There are also 2 more additional Cup competitions to play for IF your team finishes high enough in the table to qualify. All team acheivements are recorded and updated at the end of each season and is easily available to view on the sites growing History and Honours section.

If you have any questions/comments about the game or website let me know and I'll get back to you.

For the Lucky 7's website - http://www.luckysevens.co.uk

... and exclusively for the FISO players:
the FISO League table - http://www.luckysevens.co.uk/fisoleague.php

If there are any FISO teams not listed in the FISO League, post your team name and I'll add it in.

This is the only game I am any good at. Please don't enter it, as I can beat the current FISOers who play this game with buckets to spare. :D

I look forward to doing battle once again in season 9 and may only play half the games next season to make it a bit more of a challenge for me.

Only kidding  I really concentrated hard in season 8 on winning the Premiership as i've come close before but have always just missed out. In season 9 I am going to go for the Grand Slam of The Premiership plus all the cups and look forward to keeping on top of the 'All time league'.

Anybody know what happened to Pats Posse ? Did they forfeit the last game out of respect or stress

Newcastle and Arsenal let me down too.

Clearly proven to be a cup team after last season's double!

Garner FC your team has been added, welcome aboard and as thelip says you can join in anytime. In fact now is as good a time to join as any as we have only just started season 9.

Good luck!

I think if you look at the All Time League by APPM - the fairest and truest measure - you'll find I'm toppety top (assuming you don't count one season wonders)

11 points for me with one team to come. So although I would like to see Bolton progress, I'll be cheering on Besiktas tonight.

It's still early days though so don't worry too much at this stage, but if you are aiming at promotion, then as lip says you'll need to try and up your average if you can. I just had a quick look at your set 1 selections (which will be updated Thursday after the UEFA cup games) and you didn't do particularly well last night either. Good luck for this weekend.
Another tactic you need to consider is when not to play. For instance next midweek is a Carling Cup week and many of the bigger teams do not field their first XI's and so shocks are a bit more likely. This makes the results more difficult to predict.

Yes but they are all guaranteed results so no draws and 1 point matches. In the last round of the CC I (and many others) got the first 6 right and then some team called Man City let me down at the last minute.....

I know we've been down this road before but, in the case of play to a finish cup games, do we:-

1. Take the score at 90 mins

2. Take the score at 120 mins (in the case of a draw)

3. Take the result from the penalty shoot out (if there is one)?

Yours etc,

Confused
