Yes, possibly. The Scottish victory was a real surprise (to me) ... and I never for a moment thought they would beat the Italians.blahblah wrote:What I saw of the other two they could have gone either way?
However the Welsh are always dangerous. I had a reservation about the form of the French Top14 teams (where away teams invariably lose) & hoped the international team would be more motivated - on the back of their good form against England - but they were horribly devoid of imagination & Wales deserved their win.
Anyway, blahblah, down to squeaky bum time & the sharp end of the comp ... Go Gettum, mate!!

Italy were decidedly unlucky from my decidedly untrained eye; and I only caught the last 10-15 mins of the England game, so I haven't a clue what happened to Ireland after the excellent performance against Wales. Tbh, I almost saw the Wales vs France one as the banker, in that I kind of dallied between both teams in the other matches.
This round should be decided by the Sunday game?

Ireland had the ball but kept on hitting a wall.
The Scots did well.
France were poor.
Yep, England Wales is a tough call.

Ireland won by loads so early leads for blah by 7 and jc by 3.
All pretty close in the next game so unless anyone is spot on it will be pretty much England v Wales winner takes all in both.

Re: *murf's 6 Nations Egg Chasing Predictions Knockout Cup 2
For England and St George... the time has come to sing your hearts out in support of Rookster, Big Bird and our great nation. For those of you unfamiliar with the lyrics, here are the 3 songs that will be sung at Twickenham and throughout England this afternoon.
God save the Queen
God save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble Queen,
God save the Queen!
Send her victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us;
God save the Queen!
O Lord our God arise,
Scatter her enemies
And make them fall;
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
Oh, save us all!
Thy choicest gifts in store
On her be pleased to pour;
Long may she reign;
May she defend our laws,
And ever give us cause
To sing with heart and voice,
God save the Queen!
Not in this land alone,
But be God's mercies known,
From shore to shore!
Lord make the nations see,
That men should brothers be,
And form one family,
The wide world over
From every latent foe,
From the assassins blow,
God save the Queen!
O'er her thine arm extend,
For Britain's sake defend,
Our mother, prince, and friend,
God save the Queen!
Swing low, sweet chariot
Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home;
Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home
I looked over Jordan,
What did I see,
Comin' for to carry me home?
A band of angels comin' after me,
Comin' for to carry me home
Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home
If you get there before I do
Comin' for to carry me home,
Tell all my friends I'm comin' too
Comin' for to carry me home
Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home;
Sometimes I'm up,
Sometimes I'm down,
Comin' for to carry me home
Yet still my soul feels heavenly bound,
Comin' for to carry me home
Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home
Jerusalem
And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green?
And was the Holy Lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen?
And did that countenance divine
Shine forth upon those clouded hills
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among those dark Satanic hills?
Bring me my bow of burning gold!
Bring me my arrows of desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds unfold!
Bring me my chariot of fire!
I will not cease from mental fight;
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
Till we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land
God save the Queen
God save our gracious Queen,
Long live our noble Queen,

As a neutral, when it comes to the crowd singing, you can have nothing but admiration for the Welsh.

Whilst watching the rugby in Wales, I always enjoyed it in the pub before the game started. Their singing was always unified and in tune. It must be a national talent. It didn't matter which bar you were in, they all knew how to do it.

Apologies to the English out there but when it comes to signing anthems, particularly at rugby matches, the Welsh have no equal.
As a neutral, your "Swing low sweet chariot" is in the penny halfpenny stalls(no pun intended) compared to the Welsh in Arms Park in full voice.
The rugby is a different matter tho. That team you've got has good backbone for a young outfit. If the backs get space on both sides, the game should be a cracker.
Enjoy

Unlucky JC, Wales never really performed to their potential and relied on England's indiscipline and Halfpenny's right boot to keep them in it in the first half. It was a similar story in Ireland a few weeks ago and has been the same for most of the six nations this year with so many poor performances from the away teams.jimmy ching wrote:Bridesmaid again. Enjoy your trip to Paris if you can get tickets.
