Re: FISODAS Season 32 Week 9 Player Lists & Prices
So, 10 of you will be back for the play-offs next week, but for the rest it's game over, for the time being at least.
Thanks to Rob for all his help with the "widget", to Shrews for creating the game, Jester and barry for taking care of it in the interim, and Jester also for enabling a seamless handover when I took over. Most of all, thanks to all of you for playing. There wouldn't have been a game without you. I hope to compete against you all again some day
I'll leave the final word to Michael Eavis and Chris Martin

Thanks Forestfan, the last seven seasons have seen the game move forward no end. You are leaving it set up nicely for the next admin, whoever that may be...?
Sad that I was relegated but then I have been pi55 poor this season!
Enjoy your well earned rest!
To the next admin - this is a great game and not half as hard to admin as reported. If you are thinking about taking over, go for it and help keep the game going!

Re: FISODAS Season 32 Week 9 Player Lists & Prices
Where to begin...
Firstly, great game Jester - I don't think I realised how much was riding on the result. I was glad when Chelsea conceded though!
Thanks to Rob for setting up the widget every week, and forestfan for running the game so successfully over recent seasons.
Hopefully someone will come forward over the summer to keep this fantastic game running.

Re: FISODAS Season 32 Week 9 Player Lists & Prices
Thank you FOREST for your efforts this season and in the past and to ROB 'the widget (seems yonks ago when we were PMing our selections in) and to all those who have administered in the past.
It'll be a good day when I see a message posted here saying that someone else is grasping the nettle and continuing the great work.
Good luck to all in the Play Off's and I sincerely hope that those that gain promotion are not doing so in vain.

well done graydb, fair effort!
Many thanks to forestfan, as mentioned you've brought loads of progress to fisodas and will no doubt make it easier for the next admin. Enjoy your Friday nights again, and I'm sure I'll see you in league 2 soon!

Couldn’t even stave off relegation by throwing the cheque book at it.
Many thanks Forest. Hopefully it’s not the end of the road for the game.

Re: FISODAS Season 32 Week 9 Player Lists & Prices
This might be a question for Rob as well as previous admins, but how much more can the game be automated?
There is a weekly player list and player costs
We have already have a widget for capturing line-ups. (I appreciate that not 100% of entries come via this method)
We have a season-long FISODAS fixture list.
We have rules - time of submission, budget, bonuses, penalties.
We have the randoms
We have scores and league tables
There is also a cup competition.
Could any/all of the above be automated in some way?
I would assume there would be some manual pre-season set up and the creation of the player list every week (as this is highly variable not formulaic) but the is there a 'workflow' for the rest of the weekly tasks?

Re: FISODAS Season 32 Week 9 Player Lists & Prices
Congrats to all winners - particularly graydb and ilbn who topped the rest of us.
Hearty thanks to those in the engineroom - forestfan has excelled and rob's widget work is a great help.
Good luck to those in playoffs. Hopefully they prove NOT to be hypothetical.

it's advanced since I ran it, but the spreadsheet did most of the work even then!
tasks for me would be admin on here (sharing the info from the spreadsheet) and then weekly, select a list of players/defences and price them up accordingly (some weeks better than others!) then it was filling in team entries once they trickled in (widget may do that now?) and send reminders, then update scores as and when and share the info (final scores/tables etc) once the spreadsheet worked it out once the weekend games were over. Be a piece of piss for someone still with a finger on the pulse of english football - I lost interest/time and found it harder to price up each week.

Re: FISODAS Season 32 Week 9 Player Lists & Prices
we could have a league of six and play each other twice (just need 10 weeks instead of 9 which could mean no play-off between league 2 and conference). I am not sure this is the right place for this suggestion so apologies if I have this wrong.mouse clicker
If the conference is scrapped, I would begrudgingly make way and join the waiting list. Thank you FF for running this and I hope someone picks it up moving forwards.
