From the shop link, I couldnt get the Fiso Logo onto anything else other than a T-Shirt... Though if Hoodies are banned in the Luton Casino it doesnt matter anyway.
I was in the Luton casino last week. There was a sign that said hoodies were banned in the casino but were allowed in the poker room.

Shanghai to Luton is a fair old commute to get your fix.

Couldn't you join a syndicate and play some DoNs?

So boys, I am one week away from my first live poker tournament. Is there anything I need to know, and are there any tips on top of that? e.g. I don't know any chip-tricks. :-)

For Friday night, do we know if there is a tourney on, and will the dress-code be the same? Re. the main tourney, have they posted the structure anywhere, or do you know roughly from past experience? Do we have to pay for non-alcoholic drinks in the casino? etc.

Free soft drinks when at the table
Structure is slow. Play tight and you'll get a lot of play

Don't worry I can still be fun - but gave up drinking (in the real sense) when I moved to Barcelona - nae sign up a good pint of ale here!

Friday night is a £40 Nlh 1x Rebuy Or Add-on For £20 (+£5 reg fee). Re-entry X1. Starting stack is 8k.

Chip tricks are over rated, I think I'm starting to get RSI from riffling too much :(

If I was playing live for the first time, main things would be focus on being clear about my actions/bet sizes etc, remember verbal declarations are binding and spend a lot of time watching table. Dont act out of turn etc. Sorry if all that is way to obvious.

Dress code is only no football tops or shorts. Hoodies are allowed there, just phoned them and they have changed that rule.

Thanks a lot Bencrus. Have played plenty of home games over the years - I was always the host back in school days, so hopefully won't play out of turn. Will have to concentrate a little on bet sizes mind as that is kept track of for me online. If you do lose track, what can you actually ask the dealer - just the size of the last bet?

Another silly question, but do we need to carry only cash, or are debit cards accepted?

the easiest way to bet if you're unsure is verbally, so announce raise and how much, then work out the chips
you can ask the dealer what blinds are, and how much in pot
You can ask players for chip counts
It's pretty slow, being live, so plenty of time to work out what's going on

one BIG thing i'd think about - a lot - online there's that timer, and countdown and timebank and all
live - its pretty much how long you want - people can call the clock but its rare
so , TAKE YOUR TIME - DO NOT BE IN A HURRY TO DO ANYTHING - folding calling or betting quick is not a good idea - xept for the mind level 3 etc

Unless its The Muscle Pass... One of the coolest things ive ever seen at a poker table. If I hadnt seen someone do it live from the seat next to me, I would swear the youtube videos were faked.

Thats the main thing. Dont touch your chips until youve made a verbal declaration. Until youre comfortable, its really the best way to avoid any mistakes or confusion. Just state "Call" or "Raise" then move your chips over the line.

Even if you declare a raise, unless you state a specific amount, then all the chips must all cross at the same time. You cant put 400 in and then 400 more a second later... unless youve declared in advance that youre putting 800 in. The other thing that trips people up are single chips. If the bet is 200 and you want to raise it to 500. If you put a single 500 chip in without declaring a raise first, it will be treated as a call and you will get 300 change.

Another tip is to never look at your cards until its your turn. That way you can never play out of turn (it can be an awkward moment when someone does play out of turn). Its also a good way of minimising any tells youre giving off through being nervous.

Poor Pasty, that's gotta hurt :-(

I think the ringer might be holding a grudge just because of that time Pasty covered his eyes whilst he was driving! :D

I refer you to exhibit A

anyone-up-for-the-cornish-cruise-london ... 35345.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

... wow 2007 ... how time flies. First time I'd ever met any FISOers - Pasty playing and me and Spencer4 taking advantage of the free bar :)

In house fighting before we even get there!!

Turn it in!

Talking of Pasty has anyone heard from him? Is he still coming? I sent him a text and a pm last week but not heard back. (maybe it's just me :? )

Anyway, pale blue Fiso t-shirt arrived yesterday and Friday night off work sorted.

All I need to do now is try and rustle up a few quid from somewhere.

I posted on the APAT site to ask if there was going to be a live feed but not seen a reply on it yet (maybe every eff just ignoring me  )

Also, kiz, didn't you make a global announcement on here last year? Seem to remember people not on the poker forum being able to follow???
