Re: Djnuttie Poker Blog
I played a session on Sat night and didn't even make 1 mini cash in any of my MTTs
Last night at around 10pm, I bust out my last MTT of my session. Not even 1 mini cash from the whole evening. Again.
I thought I couldn't get any lower
Then, I stumbled across a post from Spirey taking the piss out of my game in the 'pocket 5s' thread.
I really couldn't get any lower
This morning I found myself starting a PM to Kardde titled 'How would you play QQ, with a raise in front and you have 8BBs behind?'
Now I know, I can't get any lower.
*
At a press conference held this morning in Hotpot towers, Hotpot released the following statement -
The Hotpot 6 month masterplan to take down Vegas was due to begin on 1 January 2011. After the events of the last 48 hours, a decision has been made to bring forward the masterplan and implementation begins with immediate effect.
I will not be taking any further questions at this point in time. Thank you.
Tonight, the Hotpot Series 6 model will be unveiled, and the world will never be the same again!
From this point forward, the Hotpot bankroll will be moving in

2 Call (on second thoughts I might not call . I've hit Time) Yep, I'm calling , I'd have raised the flop though I think
3 I’m all in assuming the villain hasn’t shown down big hands in his 8 hands

re Hotpot's hands
Maybe I'm just very tight but all 3 were folds for me (although that's almost certainly not the "right" answer)
Hand 1 smelt of the other guy having an Ace with a poor kicker.
Hand 2 has you vulnerable to such a range of hands I'd have folded after the raise on the flop. Being aggressive and re-raising feels valid but isn't my sort of play.
Hand 3 for me would be a fold every time. I suspect you're facing either a shame faced bluff in which case a shove might find them out, or possibly a middling pocket pair in which case I just don't like the odds with the chips you've got. I see no reason why shoving is necessary so fold for me.
But I acknowledge I can play very tight at large tables.

Re: Djnuttie Poker Blog
Hand 1 is a huge eff, but it's your own making because your bet on the riv is imo a bit retarded. Though now I've typed that I'm trying to say why and I can't. Was going to say you get value from nothing but that's not true, you've not got 3 aces so he should be calling a small bet with most pairs and you beat all of those. I therefore go back to it being a eff and give him credit for a horribly played better hand and fold.
Hand 2 raising flop seems like the obvious thing but I hate that so much because it opens up a really easy/powerful semi-bluff for him with a big diamond (or whatever there were 3 of). You obv can't fold either so I'm just calling and going from there. Turn is pretty ugly and he's firing again so I just give him credit and move on. If turn bricked and he bet then you've got a nice shove spot, not much he can call with there, but whenever I do that they flip the nuts
Hand 3 is meh, you've got a good stack and probably the best hand, you're against what looks like an active player so there's no saying what he'll call with, and people do weird things bvb. I'm tempted to just let him have this one. If you were sitting on a ~15 bet stack then I'd shove without much thought, but I'm not sure you really need to do that here.
Biggest leak? Too late to the party on that one but lets just say me and Pasty think alike

Hand 1 - Fold. You beat a crazy bluff or someone going nuts with a 10. It's not happening often.
Hand 2. I dunno I might call or maybe not. I would have raised the flop though: You probably have the best hand and there are sooo many turn cards that are awkward. You also find out if you're good by raising the flop.
Hand 3 - What a stupid big raise he's made. Got any reads on what that bet sizing means? He looks and sounds like a real aggro idiot anyway so I probably would shove.

Mrs Hotpot, this is just bravado with the lads. Obviously I wouldn't dream of gambling 4 figures on Random number generators from dubious websites. I'm way too sensible for that

With the kids out and nothing to bet on I'm aimlessly surfing and decided to OPR myself.
I haven't played on Stars since 15 May and have only played 16 times in the last 120 days
I'm lost for words
I 'might' fire up a few MTTs later and blow away a few cobwebs. Does anyone know my login details?

Re: Djnuttie Poker Blog
Holy shit, over three years since a post in my blog. If ever there was an advert not to have children this thread is it!
Having just read through the first few pages of this thread I'd just like to say what a player that djnuttie was! I'd forgotten about most of those 4 figure cashes so it was great to catch up
Young Charlie turns 6 next month so I think he's probably ready to get to grips with early MTT play?
