I noticed that Karrde was unattached to a FPL 5 a-side team for the 07/08 season and I'm in the same boat so I wondered if we could scrape together 5 from the poker society to start a new team?

I've got a team in FPL, probably won't pay much attention to it but it's there

Great idea and would've joined if I hadn't already joined AndyBarrels team

Sorry mate, presumed you already had a 5-a-side team......mis-interpreted your previous post.

Ok, that's the 5, now all we have to do is sort out a captain (any volunteers), a badge, a kit and a team name.

I'm not that sharp on the pc so designing a badge and all that caper is way beyond my limited skills.

I reckon the team name should obviously be something poker related. Maybe The Flops, Sharks, Gutshots? Any suggestions?

I'll post on the 5-a-side thread now that we've got a team.

I don't think I'm up to creating a badge, too many other things to do really to start mucking aboutwith graphics software anyway. As for captain - what are the duties? I wouldn't expect for me to be particularly active in any part of FPL other than (hopefuly) weekly scanning my entry and making a transfer, changing the captain, first 11 or whatever. No great interest in becoming involved in "banter" threads (unlikely to read them) I'd be more inclined to play a STT if I have a free hour or so

As far as I can see the captain's role is pretty much setting up the mini league and then in charge of hiring & firing if required (if there's slackness in the team).

I'm quite happy to do that but didn't want to just nominate myself as captain without approval of the other team members.

As for the team name and badge we're still in need of inspiration......

As you started the thread and idea then I'm happy for you to be captain. As for a badge, something with the 5 community cards at the top and the hole cards at the bottom showing the nuts drawn on the river?

Digsby - more than happy for you to be the Captain, got my vote.

The nuts works for me for the name. Bit concerned about the badge though, doesn't conjure up the nicest image

For your badge just google image for a poker chip. Get it the right size. Jobs a guddun.

The captains role is literally creating the superleague. I did naff all else last year when i was one. (except dismiss Hardbody )
