TFF chit chat 30th April, 1st, 2nd and 3rd May
Friday 30th April
Southampton 20:00 Leicester City
This set of fixtures kicks off on Friday at 8pm with a game between Southampton and Leicester. The Saints have yet to arrest their poor run of form and were rocked by the news that Ings could be out for the rest of the season. For the 3rd place Foxes Iheanacho is the man to have at the moment and Castagne isn't far behind. Vardy still isn't firing on all cylanders.
Saturday 1st May
Crystal Palace 12:30 Manchester City
Saturday starts at 12:30 with a match featuring Crystal Palace and Manchester City. The Eagles are another team on a poor run of form and games don't get any harder than this. Man City come into this match off of the back of a good win in the Champions League semi-final against PSG. Pep didn't play a recognised striker for that one, perhaps he'll go with a recognised keeper for this?
Brighton & Hove Albion 15:00 Leeds United
Shock, horror! A 3pm kick off on a Saturday. Leeds travel to the Am Ex to take on Brighton. The Seagulls are not in the best of form having lost to bottom club Sheff Utd last time out. They are a place above the relegation zone. Leeds have put in some fine performances against some of the big boys of late and their defence has markedly improved recently.
Chelsea 17:30 Fulham
At 5:30pm, a London derby at The Bridge between relegation-threatened Fulham and Champions League chasing Chelsea. Chelsea recorded a 1-1 draw in midweek and their League form recently has been good. Mr Tickle has shored up the defence but has started to rotate his personnel. Fulham have picked up a solitary point in their last 5 and are all but relegated.
Everton 20:00 Aston Villa
Saturday's late game features Everton and Aston Villa. The Toffees are 8th and a run of recent draws may have hampered their European push, though they beat Arsenal last time out. The mighty Villa are down in 11th as their form has taken a dip recently, though Watkins has been clocking up the points. Worth noting that both Everton and Villa have a game in hand over their rivals.
Sunday 2nd May
Newcastle United 14:00 Arsenal
Sunday kicks off at 2pm when Newcastle face Arsenal at St James Park. The Magpies have picked up 8 points out of a possible 12 and have gradually pulled clear of the teams below them. Arsenal played and lost in the Europa League on Thursday, Pepe as a false 9. They may have a few players back from injury, Aubameyang came off the bench on Thursday.
Manchester United 16:30 Liverpool
This weekend's big match takes place at 4:30pm between Manchester United and Liverpool. United look to have cemented 2nd spot and were in fantastic form during the Europa League game on Thursday. Liverpool have picked up 11 points from 15 and are breathing down the neck of West Ham above them. Salah has been playing well recently.
Tottenham Hotspur 19:15 Sheffield United
Spurs versus Sheffield United is Sunday's late game. Tottenham are in 7th place and under new management. They last played in the Cup Final last weekend where they lost to Man City. Sheff Utd have already been relegated so must be planning for life in the Championship. The Blades are likely to give match time to the players who will be with them next season.
Monday 3rd May
West Bromwich Albion 18:00 Wolverhampton Wanderers
Monday's early game kicks off at 6pm and features West Brom and Wolves. The Baggies are another team who look doomed to relegation, Big Sam has failed to work his magic since joining half way through the season. Wolves got thrashed last time out, losing 4-nil against Burnley, though they have a few injuries at the mom. They're safe in 11th place though.
Burnley 20:15 West Ham United
And finally, Burnley v West Ham at the Happy Place. Burnley ran out victorious against Wolves last time out, Ch Wood with a hat trick and an assist to his name - never saw that one coming. West Ham have recorded back to back defeats and their top 5 place looks a threat from the chasing pack. Lingard is still the man to have though.

Good to be back after our much needed break (I won't count the European Financial Dope-Offs on Tues and Weds or the second tier shenanigans on Thursday).

Wasn’t he sent off for trying to break Vardy’s ankle?

Re: TFF chit chat 30th April, 1st, 2nd and 3rd May
That’s the official reason given. Even if it was the latter what’s he supposed to do with his foot after he’s made contact with the ball, amputate it?Renton wrote:Wasn’t he sent off for trying to break Vardy’s ankle?

Re: TFF chit chat 30th April, 1st, 2nd and 3rd May
You’ve clearly never played football. It’s impossible for his foot to go anywhere else after he made contact with the ball. The one last week was also ridiculous. Tacking will be outlawed before long.Renton wrote:He’s out of control, it’s reckless and it’s a red card every day of the week for me.

Playing tomorrow.
If I dive in, out of control and plant my studs into somebody’s ankle, I won’t be surprised if I get sent off.
Ps...Twitter isn’t the best place to garner reputable opinions.
