Well played, Tom.
If I were you, I'd switch your team to private. There are a few managers snapping at your heels who might be quite interested to see what I've just seen.
Like your team though!

I did think that but I'm so low on transfers, I can't really do a lot to defend the chasing pack. I'm in a "has to be public" SL as well, for a fair bit of cash ... Never really thought I'd be this high up lol.

Fair enough, sounds like you have a lot still to play for!
Keep up the good work & best of luck in your SL too.

Only Dean Burdin I recognise above you so you have a great chance if that’s anything to go by. Only 36 points off top. The very best of luck.

I've got a season long team that's doing well in the monthly in 10th place. There doesn't seem to be too many female players up there but is it safe to assume at least 1 - Audrey David perhaps in 3rd - will be a dedicated team set up in June and will have 30 transfers to use across the 6 gameweeks??

Nice going, Darbyand. Would you like a side clump of cress with that team?Darbyand wrote: ↑06 Jul 2020, 10:06 I've got a season long team that's doing well in the monthly in 10th place. Think there's only 4 TFF weeks left after this evening, so from tomorrow nobody will have more than 20 transfers to play with. Hopefully you still have a fair few in hand yourself and can give it a good shot.

Sadly, 20 is a lot more than I've got left so that'll probably be a high point.
@murf yes I thought the same. Bit of a mess the whole weekly and monthly thing. It would be nice if TFF could do a mission impossible team selection that self destructs after a week/month to stop all this female relatives silliness.

The silliness comes from gambling rules which says we all pay or all get it for free. Newspaper games won't kill free entries so we are stuck with limits to prevent mass multis.
(Not sure why you can't get a limited number of extra free teams through the year to play weeklies/monthlies - if "WAGs" get to play then we should be able to)

I had been tempted to persuade the wife to play and my dog seems keen too but I, sorry, we will stick to just 5 between us this year.

Monthly and Season-long teams
Re several posts on two topics above:
- Audrey is no relation! Perhaps she picks team and transfers herself, to the possible chagrin of chauvinists? In which case, go, Audrey, go...
- djburdini has been flying post-lockdown. In March, team was top of Two-Foot Challenge prize league* and 20th overall, 67 points behind leader.
Dean's 133 tally so far this week puts him within 10 of the new frontrunner. Go, DJB, go...
1 John Hicks, Return of the Jell-i, 1,872 (50 since Friday)
2 Dean Burdin, Salsoul, 1,863 (50)
3 Keith Bond, Risa, 1,852 (49)

Nothing against women players.
Surely just a huge coincidence that lots of them did very well in the first week after lockdown compared to their usual representation on the leaderboards....

A couple of sets of stats:
Premier League losses this season:
2 - Liverpool
7 - Wolves
8 - Man Utd Arsenal
9 - Leicester Sheffield Utd Man City
What happened in Man City's last 103 Premier League games AWAY when they were losing at half-time (dating back to April 1995):
Won 1
Drawn 12
Lost 90

That is a surprising stat. Obviously 13 years of that is the real City and 12 the new City, but you'd expected the latter to have turned a few around.
