Just to answer this for you, it is usually considered a good plan to have 20+ left come the new year. But that does mean with all the extra ones you can actually do 1 a week if wanted/needed. But like Maldini says the main tactic seems to be to get a decent, playing, starting xi and hang on for a while to see how it pans out and what bargains appear. Of course if injuries or non starters happen then reassess. Not necessarily the best way though but I'd definitely aim for 20 transfers left on Jan 1st, which is easier said than done when you get carried away! ;)

Also, see if you can find the 10 commandments in an old post. Most which hold true and some which are every funny. Bit old but worth a read

It wasn’t the August nonsense. I’m a big fan of Aubameyang and have a few quid on him to win the Golden Boot this season.

Went with one up front and Arsenal have a decent run of fixtures right up to late autumn. Add to that my history of putting the mockers on Kane’s ankle and there you have it.

With the doubts over Aguero and this being at the very least a 2 for 0, I have gone for it. They have basically given us too many transfers imo (one transfer a week) and I hugged the tortoise for too long last season and ended up burning about 6 or 7 of them on next to nothing at the end of last season so I'm going for a quick start this year (top 1000 already which I am chuffed about). If the Auba move gets me into top 500 then I'm happier. If it doesn't, at least I can say I tried.

Flashheart wrote: 11 Aug 2019, 13:29 Need some help. Very happy with my start at 69 points with Jota still to play.

However I've got Guilbert and he didn't even make the squad, never mind play (I know he would have got 0 points). Any Villa fans know why?

So I'm thinking if Emerson plays for Chelsea today should I make the change? I know it's early and I'm not panicking but if it turns out I have to make the change in a couple of weeks anyway why not do it now?

I have £3m to spend (inc Guilbert at £2m). Thoughts?
Someone mentioned he had a knock yesterday but I've not investigated further. Anyone?

X2. I had been tempted by the 3 for 1 which is most unlike me. I can’t see bang bang greeting much service from that team though. Newcastle should be really up for this too.

So have a made a bad choice here using one of my transfers to take out Kane for Aubmeyang or is it justified if he bags a couple of goals here ?

I’ve not done it so history suggests this will work out very well for you

Mr £2.3m Soyuncu at Leicester may become popular if he grabs today's opportunity to take over from Maguire.

Not that I would be replacing anyone yet unless definitely injured for a spell.

I'm holding fire and hoping but I only have 2.3. With 3m I'd bag Emerson if he starts as he is great value anyway - unless you want the cash for another upgrade.

Thanks, I'll probably take you up on that. Would still have 0.4m left for upgrades if required.

Lingard or Emerson?

Trying to work out who the best cheap Chelsea defender is. Emerson or whichever CB won't lose his place when Rudiger is back.

That's why I couldn't believe it when I saw so many Zoumas etc in people's teams on here. Chelsea's defence is poor on paper and in reality and they'll concede the most of the top six.

At £2.6m, Emerson will probably still be worth it in the long term as long as he continues to start.

Happy that Martial has scored. Another would be nice.
