Enablers - 19/20
Let's get this started.
Gibbs-White - Wolves, 2.6m - plays as a very attacking midfielder.

Keiron Freeman Sheff U 2.4m DEF, Mason Greenwood Man U 3.2 STR. Both ones to watch early doors rather than starting options I'd say.

Re: Enablers - 19/20
I like to look for a player who was injured last season -and that has artificially reduced their price - IF they play every game in pre season. Couple of candidates at West Ham, Yarmolenko at 3.2 and Lanzini at 2.8.

Re: Enablers - 19/20
Lanzini is a good shout at 2.8m, very talented player. Will be interesting to see how many minutes he gets in pre-season, especially since they seem to have quote a lot of attack minded midfielders already.

Re: Enablers - 19/20
Mendy has had another knee op which means Zinchenko at 3.2 or Angelino at 3.1 is a steal. Charidee shield is usually a decent indicator of who the manager will go with but who knows with Guardiola.

That is a good shout. Didn't realise Mendy was still having issues.

What are your thpoughts on Gomez at Liverpool? His potential is defo there and can play either CB or RB , 3.6Mill could be a bargain..........

Martial could be a decent buy as I'm expecting him to be played up top this season. 4.8 mill , one to watch

Gomez and Martial are potentially value picks..... but not really enablers.

Is there a price limit that an enabler is set at so that they are not just a value pick? Personally I set this around the £2.6m limit.

Re: Enablers - 19/20
I think it depends on the position? Strikers under 4m (for example) will enable you to increase your quality elsewhere.
Rob Holding (2.4m) at Arsenal is a good shout too. Played under Emery when he first took over before his injury and is now back in full training.
With Trippier gone, any Spurs fans on here have any say on who will be first choice RB? Walker-Peters is 2.4m too and tempting, knowing Aurier is a loose cannon!

Re: Enablers - 19/20
I think Zinchenko won Peps trust last year and I think Angelino has been bought back as cover. I thought Zinch was a bit of an unsung hero. Never stood out but didn’t do much wrong. He won’t KC as much as Walker but doesn’t need to at the price.ministryofsillywalks wrote: ↑19 Jul 2019, 12:29That is a good shout. Didn't realise Mendy was still having issues.

Re: Enablers - 19/20
The Sky pundit was slating Angelino based on the first two warm-up games. Zinchenko does seem under-priced.
2 in 2 for Greenwood. Could be a decent option in an otherwise high end 532 if he gets enough minutes.

Going back to lanzini. Sounds like he is going to be starting games with them trying to tie him down to a five year contract and pellegrini saying he is a key player in his plans. Played in pre season too. Think I'll take a gamble.

There's a good chance that Foyth moves over to RB.ministryofsillywalks wrote: ↑20 Jul 2019, 07:09With Trippier gone, any Spurs fans on here have any say on who will be first choice RB? Walker-Peters is 2.4m too and tempting, knowing Aurier is a loose cannon!

Re: Enablers - 19/20
Any thoughts on whether Emerson will start at LB for Chelsea? He's a cheap option at 2.6 assuming he's in Frank's plans? Wondering what you chelski fans might think, cheers

Noticed he played today against Barca, by all accounts played quite well. Remains to be seen who Lampard is going to favour there. Watch this space I guess?!

Re: Enablers - 19/20
Remember back in the day when an enabler was Matt Holland? £2.xm, played 38 games a season, rarely got booked, chipped in with a handful of goals and the odd assist. You left him in there, collected your 90 points and was happy.
In the last few years we've had a few super enablers like Doucore or Doherty who did the above with extra goals and or 1st/2nd KCs. Maybe we'll get some of those this year, who can tell, they're rarely apparent in the summer. But if you want one of the originals I reckon McTominay is your man this season.

Mctominay has been brilliant in pre season games, along with many more United players, long may it continue. I sincerely hope Ole utilizes some of these youngsters this year as they are more than capable, and more to the point, are willing to play for the shirt.
Something tells me there will be a few bargain enablers from Man U this term, watch this space

Re: Enablers - 19/20
The problem with these big club enablers (and I'll include McTominlay, Zinchenko, Gomez and anyone from Chelsea or Arsenal) is that you cannot be entirely sure they'll start and hold their position.
Not exactly the Matt Holland play every minute, set and forget, boring but trusty potato.
Fewer of them these days, even at the smaller clubs. Wolves were the obvious exception last year. Not only did they fail to rotate but they also scored positive points.
I was fortunate to be on board but unfortunately only started with Coady who took goal scoring to a new level (a negative, wrong end level) and Jota who was completely useless initially, biding his time and waiting to become brilliant.... from the second I sold him.
In summary, good and great enablers can exist and score decent point returns, just not when in my team - and rotating them kinda defeats the oblect.

Re: Enablers - 19/20
Pep was really talking up Foden today. “Most talented player he has ever worked with” and “only problem is his manager hasn’t played him but that will change this year”. It would take a big leap of faith because he would probably have to play ahead of KDB or Dilva (I think Bilva always starts) but at 2.8m he might make it in to one of mine.
