With reference to Guilbert I was at Villa Park on Friday and he had a very impressive debut. He's very attack minded and, at times, looked as if he should be wearing a number 8 shirt. His pace got him back into defensive positions quickly and one superbly timed tackle outside the penalty area gave evidence of his defensive abilities. His attacking potential was confirmed by the goal he scored against Crewe in the League Cup last night. I think he will be first choice right back.

Looks like my enabler, Walker-Peters, is out with a hammy. Thinking an Everton defender , have Digne whose doing well for me, and some fairly kind few games coming up. Have some cash in hand so debating between Keane and Coleman - Keane cheaper, more points and less TFF picks..... any thoughts, or am i letting my extra funds (1.3m) blind me to a better cheaper enabler here?

At their prices, I'm not sure either of those two can truly be classed as enablers, but it all depends if you might need those spare funds for an upgrade elsewhere. If so, then there are one or two good shouts in this thread around KWP's price.

With an international break I might wait and see with KWP. Guibert (who I had and sold when he missed first two) and Leicester bloke are best choices unless you want to gi up to Chelsea options.

So what's the view on leading enablers then?

Trossard out, and already have Lanzini - eyeing up Cantwell, his underlying stats look good, and at an attack-minded side, and very, very cheap.

Possibility of Soyuncu as well, but that puts me in a 5-3-2, which I don't really want.

Harry Wilson looks tasty, but at 3.1 is nudging the price away from enabler slightly. That 0.7 would go a long way when it comes to rotating the big hitters to maximise games...

I have James at United but no lanzini. Also have the trossard pickle to contend with. Lanzini is the obvious one for me but i also have jota who I was considering swapping to Abraham or pulisic... To raise funds for that I'd have to go for cantwell...

James is an interesting one. He didn't score that many at Swansea, so I'm concerned this might just be a statistical blip. Or is he being used differently? It is a great price for a mid at man utd

He seems like the bright spark for us and would've got a lot of kc's last year. I never saw him at Swansea but he looks really good so far...

Just a statistical blip based on stats at previous clubs.

Got to end soon.

Just like Mo Salah's start at Liverpool

That doesn't quite work though - Salah had been pretty prolific for Roma the year before, was it 15 in 30 games or something? James got 2 in 34.

He seems to do better in a team that dominates possession, can take more risks and doesn't need to track back as often. Plus he's still young and maturing. Worth a gamble in my opinion.

Standout performers at each of the price brackets £3.0m and below. Somewhat distorted by SHF defenders, will try to remember to check again in a few months.

Doesn't look much long-term value bar Soyuncu at the lowest levels.

I’d say Enda Stevens could maintain the high scoring throughout the season.

Similarly to what Doherty did but with maybe a couple less goals

Would be very surprised if some of their players don't become obvious bargains, and I have a sneaky feeling they might be the source of a very good value defence.
Don't say I didn't tell you all!

I have Burn and with him being out for a while I am looking at a similarly cheapo def. I like the look of both Tanganga and Williams at the moment. Anyone else having similar thoughts?

Similar issues with Guibert (benched more often than starts) but don't trust Tanganga or Williams to keep playing. Sold Burn a few weeks back but stretched to someone more expensive. Baldock is great value if you can stretch to 2.4 (best PPm in the game, ahead of Soyuncu and his umlauts - 3rd in the PPM list is the similarly priced Cantwell in midfield)

Baldock, 95, 2.4m, PPM = 39.58
Soyuncu, 85, 2.3, 36.96
Cantwell, 79, 2.4, 32.92

(5 Sheff U and 4 Leicester in top 10! Then Burn and TAA)

This Tanganga bloke would be of interest if Tottenham could actually keep a clean sheet.

lol, yeah there is that. Having Burn out for a few weeks hasn't really hurt me too much. As with most of these things, it's a bit complicated as I have just about enough funds to bring back Sterling right now if my Son gamble of a few weeks ago doesn't start bearing fruit. Today is the last day for Son if it's another 2 pointer from him.

Two points on this:

I like to think of them not as umlauts but as shocked face, smiley face, smiley face

And also, if Siggy leaves the Prem I'm sure Soyuncu and his umlauts can replace him
