TFF chit chat 23rd and 24th April

Post by morganb »

TUESDAY 23RD APRIL

Tottenham 19:45 Brighton

The first of the midweek games is a real top v bottom clash featuring a high flying Spurs side up against a Brighton team who are still at risk of relegation. Morale will be high for a Tottenham team who are in the CL semis. Brighton were probably happy with a nil-nil at the weekend given their recent form.

Watford 19:45 Southampton

The second of Tuesday's matches is FA Cup semi finalists Watford against a revitalised Southampton who I have been assured will be challenging for the title next season based on current form. Deulofeu returned from injury and bagged a brace on Saturday.

WEDNESDAY 24TH APRIL

Wolves 19:45 Arsenal

Wednesday night kicks off with Wolves versus Arsenal. The Gunners suffered a shock defeat against Crystal Palace at the weekend and will be hopeful of a result here. Wolves form has tailed off a bit since their FA Cup semi final defeat, will they get back to winning ways tonight?

Man Utd 20:00 Man City

And finally, the Manchester derby. A game that on paper looks like being a rather one sided affair could become the match that dents City's title hopes. Will OGS be able to rekindle the form his team showed when he first arrived or will the City juggernaut with Pep at the wheel flatten their top 4 hopes?

I'm 14 points behind in my SL and we've got very similar teams. Is Sterling to Son madness or could it prove to be a masterstroke and my winning differential?

I was thinking of getting Son in but all options to get him in play tomorrow or Friday and I'm not sure a daisy will get much as expecting Brighton to show some fight.

Shane Long scores the fastest Premier League ever after just SIX seconds. That will never be beaten.

It’s 8 seconds on the other thread... and 7 seconds according to the BBC (Youssou N’Dour and Neneh Cherry would be proud...)

Davide Gualtieri.
The goal was timed at 8.3 seconds, which remained the fastest World Cup goal scored in either qualifying or the finals, until Christian Benteke scored after seven seconds for Belgium against Gibraltar on 16 March 2017 (source: Wiki)

Sorry to disappoint you but I put him in as a differential pre-game, so more likely to be sent off!

Wonder what the record is/was for the gap between 2 goals in a game - and did Neneh Cherry bang on about that too?

For anyone that didn't jump on Spurs yesterday, they have a 2-0 over Liverpool after Friday. Of course many will just go straight to City rather than back to Liverpool after the 2-0

Well we are well clear of the Most points lost from winning positions League. 8-)

Arsenal reveal that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang misses out this evening because he has had a "small sinus procedure".
