Pretty similar to me. I'm guessing most are in the same boat. I've stayed off the transfer button though.. So not the end of the world

Maybe I playing the game wrong...but been choosing defenders today. Transferred in Luiz and Kolasinac.

Perfect if you're going for the weekly, but I wouldn't want to be left with those two. Although Luiz has got a few clean sheets lately.

Luiz is the 4th highest scoring defender. I've had him for ages and he's served me well.

I moved up one position. If people have been spunking transfers for no gain, that's a result.

Looks like a lot of players in the top 100 brought in Lukaku. My team that didn't have him fell 15 places where as the team that did rose one place

Most of my teams did 10-12 points today (kolasinac + 1-2 pointers), the best was around the 1000 mark moved 100 places up, the worst around 4000 mark moved 500 places up, not bad given I didnt use transfers and others will have used

High 98 .... but it's my 'worst' team .... although it is up around 10k places into top 30k
Low 54
Top team 79
.... hopeful of more points depending on which City players get the nod v. Rotherham.

Ahh but we all know what will happen within the next few games if he's taken out, yup he'll score a free kick, pick up a KC, get a clean sheet and grab 15 points lolhappyhoppy wrote: ↑05 Jan 2019, 14:13 Alonso seriously annoying, attacking points dried up and Luiz cheaper and starts today, anyone tempted to switch?

I'm seriously tempted by KDB at home to Rotherham, would be for Son seeing as he's off to Asia. Initially i planned on waiting for Son to play Utd but if KDB has a field day against Rotherham I would catch a few managers sleeping, thing is though will he play tomorrow then in next week's carabao cup semi then be given a rest for the home game to Wolves? The other option is leave Son for the Utd game then do KDB on the Monday? Anyone else pondering the same situation?

Re: TFF chit chat 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th January
From Pep on Twitter today ....
If you want to become a top, top club you can’t deny any game and we can’t drop any competition.
We are doing to play the FA Cup game (against Rotherham) like a final and that’s going to happen.
If we win, we go through, if we lose we are out of the second most important competition in England.
I prefer to be in this position (still in all competitions) and we have enough squad.
@DeBruyneKev and @IlkayGuendogan are back and we are going to rotate and everybody is going to play.
That is the only way.
.... I think if Pep plays KDB, Gundogan, Jesus .... maybe Mahrez needs a game, Walker only played 5 minutes against Liverpool, perhaps Zinchenko & Foden and a couple of 'junior' squad members. That should be a decent-enough team to see off Rotherham by a few goals .... I know, I know, over-confidence aside etc.
If that is the sort of team he puts out then I'll be jumping on KDB on the basis that sooner rather than later he will become a regular starter and I'd be bringing him in anyway. Probably just KDB and not anyone else, unless another 'first-teamer' makes a surprise appearance.

The KDB situation is a weird one. Has he fallen out of favour with Pep or is he being managed following his long term injury. His absence last week puzzled me.brencarr wrote:From Pep on Twitter today ....

Re: TFF chit chat 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th January
I think he's simply being managed and wasn't considered fit enough for a high-tempo (heavy-metal) game v. Liverpool. That said, he didn't even make the bench but I think that can be explained with the same reason - if he can't start it would be worse coming on and trying to go from 0-60 and risk an issue.

I have had both for a few weeks now and it's been very good for me; one of my better decisions. Alonso has come very close in the last few games - twice hitting the inside of the post.happyhoppy wrote: ↑06 Jan 2019, 08:25He stayed in the end for those reasons.longjohn12 wrote:Ahh but we all know what will happen within the next few games if he's taken out, yup he'll score a free kick, pick up a KC, get a clean sheet and grab 15 points lolhappyhoppy wrote: ↑05 Jan 2019, 14:13 Alonso seriously annoying, attacking points dried up and Luiz cheaper and starts today, anyone tempted to switch?

Yes that's most likely all it is Pep is taking it slow with KDB because earlier this season he was rushed back and succumbed to injury again after a few games.brencarr wrote: ↑06 Jan 2019, 08:35 I think he's simply being managed and wasn't considered fit enough for a high-tempo (heavy-metal) game v. Reckon he'll start today and next w/e with a rest in the LC so will ship my Lukaku punt out for him as plan on keeping KDB long-term.

He is being managed therefore he is not someone who should be in your team. Yet.

Re: TFF chit chat 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th January
I need a two game striker to move Lukaku on from yesterday i.e. they play two games before Kane comes back in next Sunday afternoon.
Candidates are Vardy (if he plays) Mitrovic (if he plays) and maybe Deeney (if he plays). Leicester would be nice as they're at home next weekend but if I wait for that one and he doesn't play I'm stuck.
I've got a feeling Puel played weak sides in the cup last season.

I can completely understand the temptation to bring in a player of KDBs quality in a match like this but I can’t get away from the fact he has failed to come back from injury properly 3 times now.
He hasn’t really played any meaningful football all season. I’d expect the club to be a bit worried about him (rather than him being in anyway out of favour). I’ll resist for now.

This one feels like a coin toss to me. Recent form is similar. I’d probably pick Vardy as the one who has most chance of scoring well over those games but as you say the 4.30 KO is unhelpful. I also looked at Jimenez as another potential candidate before I checked that the next Wolves game is City away. Mitro would be second pick.Darbyand wrote: ↑06 Jan 2019, 09:53 I need a two game striker to move Lukaku on from yesterday i.e. they play two games before Kane comes back in next Sunday afternoon.

Vardy didn't play against Fleetwood away or the home replay or the 4th round game last season. Hmmmm let's see what the lineups bring.

Some fair points raised about Dr Bruyne. I do remember on his previous injury returns that he was quite rusty on each occasion and it took him a couple of games for his killer touch/pass to return that said they're at home against Rotherham in the cup with a strong lineup likely! As mentioned before it's a risk so I comes down to whether you're prepared to take it or not!

I think that's the tempting thing .... City are not going to play the likes of Rotherham every week. Now we all know the 'magic' of the cup .... but we also saw Spurs demolish Tranmere.
As my old man used to say .... you pays your money and you takes your choice.
