Is Kane an expensive luxury? Worth dropping today?

Post by Cassius »

I have Kane and Aguero - which obviously limits me in other areas of my team. Kane, whilst scoring last night, is hardly setting the world alight.

Dropping him could enable me to make some good improvements to my overall team - as follows:

Hart > Alisson
Alonso
Mendy
Robertson
Wan Bissaka
Salah
Hazard
Richarlison
Maddison > Barkley
Kane > Sterling
Aguero

Unfortunately I’m just 0.1 short of getting Ederson in today. The alternative is to keep Maddison and just go for Kane/Hart to Sterling/Ederson?

What do you think? Good moves or tinkerville? I have 31 transfers left.

Tinkering imo. By all means get rid of Maddison but leave Kane where he is. He will be clicking into gear soon enough.

Thanks Mins. Can’t afford to upgrade Maddison / Hart without dropping Kane so it’s either the whole hog or no dinner!!??

Maddi to Stones\Laporte then W-B to a mid makes sense to me.

Kane is just 2 or 3 weeks away from starting an amazing run of fixtures, when i think we will all try to bring him in. So i would probably hold if I had him, which is not the case: I have a combination of Aguero + Auba/Laca in most teams

I took him out for the 3-1 so will be hiding behind the sofa at the weekend against Palace. He will be coming straight back in though.

Never had him in my only team myself. 6 goals in 11 games for a team looking out of sorts playing at Wembley doesn't worry me. City and in particular Sterling scare me.

Agreed. My Laca 3 for 0 over Hazard were supposed to revert back to Hazard this weekend but Sterling is very much on the radar too. Even allowing for his kick the ground howler tonight!

Fair points but they do have a decent run of games coming up in Dec so can re-asses then I suppose. Absolutely agree on Sterling and with the Maddison injury am thinking it might be a no brainer to stick him in.

You should be able to buy half a player. I’d buy half a Sterling for half his points. Great idea. A bottle of wine always makes me more creative (and younger and good looking).

Think you're onto something. Both halves could have a different value i.e. As Sterling never scores with his head, his top half could be an enabler!

I was seriously considering a Kane to Sterling tinker until those two goals (or one) against PSV Eindhoven which made me think again.

Mmm. Home after a few last night. Whole heartedly believed the statements I made. Mrs Jamjack was of a very different opinion and surprisingly rejected my amourous advances. I’m sure she will be kicking herself today realising it’s not her birthday until May.

I can’t. I’ve got another 24 hours of pretending my feelings are hurt. Sunday...maybe.

Well sitting on my hands cost me 18 points last weekend so Kane better reward me handsomely tomorrow or Sterling is definitely going in for the Man Utd game.

He'll still score okay but just going by the "eye test" he doesn't look the same player as he did a year ago. I think his injury at the start of this year has affected him, possibly permanently. Seems to have turned into much more of a poacher with less all-around hustle. Doesn't look as sharp in possession any more. Am I the only one who thinks that?

No, I'd agree with that. Also looks knackered like you say after playing non stop. He's out of my team at the moment but can come back in if sparks in to life.

Problem is that he is still reasonable value when playing/scoring at 75%

No star players are really lighting it up consistently like him and Salah did last year.

I've currently got:
Ederson

Robertson
Alonso
Laporte
Coady

Mane
Perreyra
Salah
Maddison

Kane
Auguero

Thinking of getting rid of Kane and Maddison for Sterling and Richarlison and then possibly Mane for Hazard after the 3pm games.
City have a fairly easy run though do expect rotation. Both Everton's and Chelsea's runs aren't bad either.
Thoughts?
