TFF chit chat 6th and 7th February

FA Cup Fourth Round Replays

Tuesday 6 February

Birmingham City 19:45 Huddersfield Town

The first of the three FA Cup replays sees Uddersfield travel to St Andrews to take on Birmingham. The Terriers are likely to prioritise Premier League survival over a Cup run so expect a much changed team against the lower Championship side.

Swansea City 20:05 Notts County

The Welsh Wizards from Wales welcome Notts County to the Liberty. Like Uddersfield, the Swans are likely to prefer to stay in the Prem rather than win the FA Cup so you'd imagine a second-string eleven will be fielded tonight. Bony and Fer are both out for the rest of the season.

Wednesday 7 February

Tottenham Hotspur 19:45 Newport County

Newport are on their way to Wembley... Wednesday's sole match sees Newport travelling to London to take on Spurs. Tottenham played out a controversial 2-2 draw at the weekend and I would expect a number of their major players to be rested for this one.

a starting Swansea defender today might be a good option looking at their schedule, and have been fairly solid of late

pity, I was hoping for Mawson/Fernandez, but Naughton will do. VanderHorn I don't trust how nailed he will be

Swansea: Nordfeldt; van der Hoorn, Bartley, Naughton; Narsingh, Clucas, Carroll, Roberts; Dyer, Routledge, Abraham.
Subs: Mulder, Fernandez, Olsson, Ki, Maric, James, Ayew

I'm hoping for something from Clucas and/or Ayew (from the bench)

Disappointed Ayew isn't starting so here's hoping Notts County can frustrate Swansea for long enough to get him on the pitch.

CS for vdH please and double hat tricks for both vdH and Carroll (starting xi dodgy pick) would be nice.

Not much Uddersfield interest so they can lose to nil.

Whilst I’m not proud of this, I have Ince in my best starting 11 team. That’s got to be 7 points on the field unless someone else was as dumb as me in August...

EDIT - what happened there!! Now showing as an OG and I’ve gone an shared my poor pre-season judgement with all of you!

I had him in one starting xi team. His pre season form was good enough to gamble in one.

So Swansea and Huddersfield start the replays off with some nice bonus points for those that took the plunge ....

Abraham - 18
Narsingh - 14
Ince - 13
Dyer - 12
Routledge - 10
Naughton - 10
van La Parra - 9
Carroll - 7
Mounie - 7

...let's hope Spurs play some of the first XI tomorrow - I got one point tonight from Clucas

Some succesful gamblers out there. My best team dropped by 10%. 652 to 717. [EDIT - It actually climbed something as it was in 752nd originally. A score of 2 9other teams) still gave a climb after the Spurs game.]

Starting xi 58th up to 48th thanks to Carroll. [EDIT - only dropped to 50th after Spurs 0 pointer]

On the right hand side of your 'Team Summary' table
Or on the app you can view the team then click 'starting xi' (or just go the leaderboard)

nb - only your teams entered by first kick off (was it friday night or saturday lunchtime this year?) are eligible

Best team fell 30 places to 800th but I can’t begrude the points thebrave souls who gambled last night gained.

Starting xi 23rd up to 13th (!) thanks to Ince
