Re: 3 - 0 over Spurs
Surely the point of so many transfers is to take advantage of situations like this?

At least Kane is playing which is a good start.

Should be at least one guaranteed goal as well as he wants to be the sole record holder. And after he scores that he'll want another to overtake Messi for the year

Re: 3 - 0 over Spurs
One remembers when players in similar situations get the goal(s) required. But they fail just as often.
I'd say that the expected points from a player you bring in for Kane is around 18 pts IF he plays all three games. Which for two transfers is just about worth it - maybe. But if he only gets two games, it's not value.
If Firmino/Lukaku etc gets 35 pts we can expect some "crowing" in these parts in a week's time. But if he gets 5-10 pts, silence will reign.

What better use of 5% of your transfers is there in a season long team? People used to scour the grid for these kinds of things when we had 24/30 let alone the 40. Is it the proximity of the games at Christmas and fear it'll be a c.200 minutes for 0 that's putting people off?

10 would be good enough if it also facilitates a different player exiting (or 2 if I also jump on Eriksen or Alli for the 2 bonus Spurs games!)

Still feel it's a risk worth taking, either a poor haul or good haul Vs zero points.Striker wrote: ↑26 Dec 2017, 12:13I'd say that the expected points from a player you bring in for Kane is around 18 pts IF he plays all three games. The other thing I'm thinking is in three games time it might be time to be rid of Aguero again anyway depending on what Pep is up to.

Yep, agreed. Lukaku most likely to start all 3(even alongside Ibra) and Burnley defence weaker today, Saints look poor too, so Lukaku it is. Also medium term their fixtures are decent, so I may well keep him, bringing Kane back elsewhere..

Re: 3 - 0 over Spurs
Thinking that Kane may well get a rest against Swansea, you then don't need to worry about bringing him back till the 4th, may not make a huge difference to things, just delays the transfer unless I'm not spotting anything else here to gain an advantage but a bit of preparation time may help if an injury strikes
however even if Kane is on the bench against Swans I suppose you'd have to do the switch back just in case he comes on.

Re: 3 - 0 over Spurs
He's getting a big enough rest in advance isn't he? Then there is a Cup match where a rest is more likely so that is another rest.

Re: 3 - 0 over Spurs
Usually I would say he gets a rest in the FA cup but its possible the Swansea game is used, to keep him 100% for the West Ham game 2 days later
May well get a rest in both the Swansea and FA cup game

Re: 3 - 0 over Spurs
He'll play in all the league games and I wouldn't be surprised to see him at least feature at some point in the FA Cup game, especially if Spurs need a goal.

Re: 3 - 0 over Spurs
No way he's getting rested v Swansea, he doesn't even get subbed off when 4-0 up.
Worst case scenario is subbed off v West Ham if leading comfortably.

Fair enough, I've not followed Wimbledon's form, but recently Spurs' second stringers haven't always been able to cruise past lower league teams in the cups.Kentish Womble wrote: ↑27 Dec 2017, 19:43The way Wimbledon have been going this season, the Spurs Youth Academy may as well play.
