Two weeks to stew on things. I might go Pope, and hopefully benefit from the extra money for a awhile before going for De Gea later. By that point though, other keepers may be an option.

Pope and Lukaku cost 8.9. Courtois and Sane also cost 8.9. You could have any Goalkeeper of your choice. I don't regret avoiding Lukaku. He will loose game time eventually with Ibrahimovic returning.

If you've got a transfer surplus he's worth bringing back for a 2 for 0 v Newcastle and Brighton but yes, sadly he's not in my long term plans.

Lukaku is still the third highest scoring striker so no reason to regret starting with him. One to review I think, but I doubt he's someone people will regret having season long.

I’m not talking with long term research behind me but... I think I am right in saying Lukaku has been streaky in the past. I ditched him in a few teams a few weeks ago to increase City coverage because I had a gut feeling he (and United) has come off the boil. I’d be exposed if you asked me how my changes had worked out but let’s not get into that right now....

2 weeks to stew indeed but I’m probably going to be a net seller of Lukaku (unless I convince myself that the return of the Pog will make it all better).

He has always done well against lower teams and poor against the top teams. If you’ve held him through the last few games it doesn’t make sense to sell now.

Lukaku scored 7 goals and 49 points (7ppg) in his first 7 games and 0 goals and 14 points (3.5ppg) in his last 4.

I dropped him after the Liverpool game, but will be tempted to bring him back in for the NUFC game next Saturday evening.

Yeah I was surprised, would have put ownership in the high 20s.

I didn't think he'd play in a friendly given his recent issues.

Jose will be kicking the cat tonight. The IB for friendlies at this point (qualification just finished (bar play offs) and tournament not for another 7 months) doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

Do you mean the Euro 2020 qualifying league - that does look like a monster. Next IB is 23 March and by then I'll have no transfers anyway

So there's Jones to worry about but any more injuries during the break? When I turned on 5Live yesterday, Jesus was receiving treatment, he continued playing after though.

There's been a few updates in the injury thread this week but nothing too serious.

So in summary-

Clyne is further injured (again)

Jones has hurt his hammy. Maybe Ok. Maybe not. (again)

Mane has hurt his hammy. Maybe Ok. Maybe not. (again)

Things looked bad for Jesus but he rose again (again)

Aguero fainted without losing consciousness (a first!)

You have to hand it to Aguero for the sheer inventiveness and variety of ways he finds to make himself come back from international duty with a question mark over him.

He wasn't holed up in a cave with a load of chocolate eggs this time so no point hanging around.

The NHS have updated their website. On the page for stress avoidance it now officially recommends not putting Sergio in your FF team.

That's the easy advice. But what do they say to those who currently have Aguero in their team? Perhaps, that they'll deal with it in six months time?

It advises not going to A&E at peak times, i.e. at 10 to kick off when his absence from the teamsheet has spread panic and the servers have blown up.

My defence looking good this week for top team. Otamendi (suspended), Jones (injured) and Forster in goal.

I suspect you won’t be alone. It took me until quite recently to bring Jones and Otamendi into my team but I got there just in time for the suspensions and injury. Probably my fault - sorry.

On this theme, most of my my current 11 scores versus of my original 11 scores look horrible this year. Really horrible

Wouldn't be surprised to see Phil Jones lumber on to the pitch this weekend. Some talk that the Pog is back.... with Zlatan not far behind him!

For those who don't habituate the injury thread, Alderweireld is knackered.

Same boat. I haven't had Jones long. I had Bailley but moved him out when he got injured for Otamendi. A chance Jones may start so will see what the press conference says. I'll be keeping both either way. Hopefully Jones is just 1 week.
