TFF 2020/21 PROV. PLAYER LIST OUT. Launches w/c 24 August
Some positive signs at the end of this thread
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=132407 and TFF's social media output, so working on the assumption it does go ahead this is the place for pricing speculations, rule changes etc.
Two major considerations for me:
1) staggered start dates: if City/United/Wolves go deep in their European competitions, will they get a late start in the Prem? 22 September had been suggested for City if they reach the CL final compared to everyone else starting on 12 September. There are international fixtures before the Prem starts then the next international break is c.8th October which leads nicely in to:
2) transfer window open until 5th October means a big overlap with the start of the season like how it used to be. Players under speculation with mystery injuries benched for the first 3 games, bargains to be had when a top team buys from a team with cheap players etc.

Re: If TFF 2020/21 does happen
Going to depend if other important (to TFF) teams miss weeks when they are supposed to play late starters. Liverpool should start straight away so we can pile into their players initially then move into City with a quick tinker after a fortnight or so. If Liverpool miss a week then I may even enter a team late to be able to buy City (etc) starters and the enablers who have by then emerged in the initial weeks.
Too many ifs and buts to make concrete plans - but I may start the Highlander sidecomp* slightly late so you can enter a late team for that (plug, plug - save a team!!).
(To be honest, these days TFF is just a sidecomp that enables the superior Highlander competition but we don't want to shout too loudly about that as we can't risk upsetting TFF Towers before they officially launch)

so it could be that both Highlander and I GOTTA HORSE might be vying for the favours of Tff followers which are falling from the Teletowers table. Bated breath in all parts ! How many teams will be allowed, if any ?

Re: If TFF 2020/21 does happen
Whilst we wait let's have a guess at top pricing and identities in each category. I can't see too much changing from 2019/20 here.
Allisson £4.5m
TAA £5.5m
Salah £7.0m*
Auba/Aguero £7.0m
*I'd like to see a shift of several players from MF - Salah, Mane, Martial, Sterling to name a few - to forwards. If the team plays 4-3-3 or variants of, and they're usually one of the last named 3, they're a forward these days. Won't happen though.

Yep, pretty stupid to allow 433 then classify those who are 'wide forwards' in a 433 as midfielders.

This would be annoying, far too late and another way to kill off some interest from the casual players

A Twitter update too
https://twitter.com/TFFootball/status/1 ... 44097?s=19
The new 2020/21 TFF season will be available within a few days of the Champions League final (Aug 23) and we'll also have updates next week on the revised player list.
Anyone else have an idea on maximum prices/players etc?

Don’t understand why Rashford has been switched to a midfielder whilst martial (rightly) has gone the other way. Salah and Mane remain midfielders. Gonna need a 361 formation.

Are they influenced by FPL who've done similar with strikers?
Some good value in Soton defenders and Wolves too.

Don't shout too loudly about value - it is only a provisional list
Why only 1 keeper and 1 defender at 2.0m??

"A new platform" ... I wonder if this marks a break from GFM? In previous seasons the order of players in sky and tff price lists has been very similar as both lists were collated by the same company, but there are many differences this time around.

Kante or Xhaka for 3.5, hmm, or shall I splash out an extra 0.1 for Greenwood?

Someone on Twitter said there's two Greenwoods listed. One as a MF the other a forward. I can only see 1 though.

Leighton Baines priced at £2.2m. Would have been a steal in years gone by, but his fantasy output this season may well be hindered by his recent retirement.

Son a midfielder too. But still they allow 433.happyhoppy wrote:Don’t understand why Rashford has been switched to a midfielder whilst martial (rightly) has gone the other way. Salah and Mane remain midfielders. Gonna need a 361 formation.
In reality we'll all be playing 4-1-5 or 3-1-6 (whilst out only midfielder, KdB is fit anyway. If out it will be 4-0-6 and 3-0-7)

I'm sure this debate will be replicated across all the games but for TFF starting lineups: to United/City or not to United/City? It'd help if they got Sunday teevee games on their first weekend as you could get an instant bonus of two games from other players, and a chance to see what's what before maybe moving a Manc contingent in.

There's a lot of fixture difficulty planners but often they are based on subjective opinions of what's a hard game or last season's positions. This one is based on bookmakers odds for next season. Stay out of the red and in the blue, there's nothing in this game for...

Fixtureasoning
Wolves v Man City in Week-2 shouldn't be earlier than Sunday 20 Sept.... for TFF starting lineups: to United/City or not to United/City?
... Maybe wait to see the order of weekend 2. If Mancs play last it is a 2 for 0 for 1 transfer.
Logic: Wolves play first league fixture on Mon 14 Sept and then League Cup 2nd round match probably on Thurs 17th.
Brighton and Sheffield Utd follow same pattern: PL Mon, LC Thurs, PL Sun or Mon.
