Post by sibrown4 »

8 goals now in his first 4 games, 2 games of which were sub appearances.

Some debut month he is having.

Born in England, so we’ve missed out on one there...

What Leeds need is a striker. It would be even better if he was Leeds born.
What shouts more than a hat trick of hat tricks?
Joking apart, Erling Haaland has got himself in to the Quiz question league.

Yeah, that appears to be the first mention of him on FISO (around five years after his dad's most recent prior mention here, most of those tended to be related to Roy Keane!)

I think I did it with Pogba as well.

This is fun time. All you gloating Man U fans should take a stand back, because you're next. Le Havre are taking them through the same procedure as they say Man Utd have stolen Paul Pogba.

I knew of him before he played for Salzburg against Liverpool.

He was distinctly average and, as a Liverpool fan, I was only 'scared" when their only exciting player got the ball. Was so glad Liverpool signed him instead, Minamino was way better than Haaland in those games....

All true. Only time I saw him play was those 2 games and he was less impressive than the average bottom half of the PL CF.

He generally remains unimpressive in games... until those moments he isn't!!

Yep. While his positioning and movement in the box are excellent, is that goal instinct really that difficult/special? The only think I can remember him doing outside the box (apart from a great miss-hit shot, which went in) was his assist for Foden, where they switched positions/roles.

What is impressive is the way Pep has changed the way Citeh attack to make the most of him, especially as so few (if any) other managers do this...

Kane should be binge watching his goals, rather than playing DM πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„

You maybe should have watched them in every other Salzburg game in UCL that season then rather than just against Liverpool - because it was pretty clear who the best player in the team was then. Maybe if Liverpool scouts had watched the other games as well as just their home one that they would have gone for Haaland rather than Minamino instead?!!

And before you say this is a hindsight thing I remember saying (and taking the p1ss!) that at the time when dot (I think) was talking up Minamino like he was the Japanese Messi or something (obviously once Liverpool had signed him - he didn't have an effin' clue who he was before that!)!!! Wasn't close then and certainly isn't now.

Minamino did look special in those games. Not Messi special but a potential bargain at the price.

Turned out Mini Me would have been more special.

Karel Poborki stood out for the Czech Republic in Euro 1996 - doesn't mean we made the right choice to go for him over Pafel Nedved though!!!
