And they're not even playing at home, unlike the imposters in yellow in the summer...

Congratulations Platini on making England's qualifying campaign such a huge borefest. We could field an under12's team have twenty injured, lose 12-0 and still be massive favourites to get through, unmissable.

The other big names have got the right idea, make hard work of it by losing a couple of games early on... England are neither dropping points nor playing well!

A fantastic weekend for the super-minnows, along with the Faroes' win and San Marino's draw (and Gibraltar's better-than-Brazil showing), Liechtenstein also won in Moldova. Pre-qualifying? A phrase that only belongs in 1980s F1

Just think... the micro nation magic might even be relevant if they were sensible 4 team groups

Well, the Faroes have made it very difficult for Greece so you can't say it's not important. Austria are doing really well, though clearly Alaba is class.

Shows just how mundane it's all become for England. Turn up, play badly and sail through... difficult enough?.. thanks Michel

The man voted for Qatar and vehemently opposes goalmouth technology so probably to be expected.

The Scotland match should be a bit more competitive, despite its "friendly" status, anyway.

Yes sad but true, we now look upon pretty meaningless friendlies for a bit of excitement as at least they'll be more "competitive" than the dross served up in our qualifying games.

wish we had a borefest and a group of easy teams to sail through qualifying!!

looking highly likely that after the next group of games 4 teams will be level on 10 points......

I'm surprised they don't have a nano-nation "World Cup", for countries with a population under say 100,000... I know, it would be a bit of a costly trek for San Marino to fly out (and then perhaps get a boat from Australia?) to play Nauru or Vanuatu!

There is the Non-FIFA organisation the 'NF Board' that sort of do run their own championships for marginal 'States'. Perhaps the micro nations should join that so San Marino can become world champs?

These are the countries/territories with less than 500,000 population (I obviously did Vanuatu a disservice by suggesting it had less than 100k, apologies to any Vanuatans(?) on here!)

If these countries had a tournament, Iceland would walk it, anyway...

In fairness, there isn't a reason other than cost why UEFA can't help to organise a small nations tournament a week before the Euros / WC.

Thanks to Greece disastarous showing

Hungary are the best placed 3rd team and Are Qualified

Because they can count their 2 results with Faroes (6 points) and discard the 1 point they got against the worst side in the Group Greece!!!

The other 8 third placed sides who were not allowed to count their matches with San Marino Malta etc etc must play off in November to make Euro 16

Yes I meant to post they are best at the.moment

Ukraine could have passed them as you said but they lost last night

Turkey can get best 3rd only with a win and also Kazakhstan winning tonight

That would put Latvia last and Turkey would have to discard less points.

If one of these 2 do not happen then Hungary can celebrate tonight

I don't like the play offs (I do like them really). Two more pressure games. Irelands record is two wins out of six.
