What did everyone have for lunch at work today.

Post by Achiles74 »

Just a simple thread, what did everyone have for lunch today at work (if you are at work, if not at school or unemployed or person of leisure).

And when you add what you had for lunch today, what part of the country do you come from?

Myself I had wholemeal bread with lowfat colesaw, a banana and a glass of water (Wales)

2 Salad cream sandwiches & a banana. Yorkshire. Too tight to spend any real money on proper food.

Charcuterie (Plate of meats) starter.
A fresh vegetable and tomato sauce with pasta 2nd course.
Duck and roast potato main course.
Fromage Blanche with fresh raspberry sauce.
Coffee.
Wine, water or limonade with above.
Yep, everybody has a 2 hour break at lunch. France, rural.
It is normally workers who eat there, with the occasional tourist chucked in. I can't keep up with the locals, I feel I've achieved something if I do this once a week.

Aren't you the bloke who in various threads mentions that he's on a low income. Even those of us who are comfortable would rarely if ever contemplate such a lunch except occasionally on holiday in France, but not if we simply worked there. :)

Yes I am on low income, it's bought for me. Is that wrong?
Usually the employers pay for it or the majority of the cost.
Something to do with Napoleon.

In one of the most unlikely sounding lunch combinations I've ever had, today I had sushi, followed by cheese and biscuits (Cornish Yarg, and i didn't bother with the biscuits) in Sheffield.

A brown buttered roll which I had to fill with my own Cheese & Onion Walkers crisps... oh and a couple of small plums. I don't think my wife could be bothered this morning.

I've made my own power mix. I worked through lunch today but nibbled.

Rape seeds
Sunflower seeds
Cashews
Almonds
Various dried fruits
mix up in a tupperware container.

add.........

PORK SCRATCHINGS (that's where the power comes from)

I also had 2 bananas which seem popular.

I make a similar power mix for when I'm out hiking but include smarties for added boosts of quick energy to the mix.
