Dammit i sold my Wii last week and now you go and post that!

I wasnt using it much (hadnt switched it on since i set those records) so i figured i'd sell it while they are still commanding big prices and buy a new one later in the year or early next year instead.

I sold my DS lite too and that paid for half the shiny new pc (my first ever, the old one was a box of bits i inherited) which is happily playing games at enormous gfx settings. Couldnt be happier with it really.

They still aren't readily available in the shops  , 5 months on and massive sales. great fun but sadly not played enough

Just bought Mario Strikers (or whatever it's called!!). Fantastic game with the first online capability (ie playing people online). It's not as easy to use as the XBox360 but it works - so with my failure to get Red Alert online working (I've still not given up hope) anyone who gets Mario Strikers can give me (or more likely one of the many X-Clan) a go!!

We have Mario Strikers - which youngest is playing whenever he can, as always I like to be Wario, his fave is currently DK

I am mostly playing G1 Jockey Wii - Pure genius - Nunchuk is your reins, Wiimote is your whip. Well on my way to Champion Apprentice in my first season and 3rd in the race for the Jockeys title :D

Also playing a bit of Tiger Woods, which would be awesome with online capabilities - maybe next year

My son (who will be 9) wants the Nintendo Wii for his birthday in a few weeks.

Anyone got any ideas on some decent games for his age ?

Argos seem to have a reasonable deal on the Wii with Sports Game for £179.97 unless there is a better deal out there.

Cheers

Pete

Hi everyone.

Just read this thread as I have decided to treat myself to a Wii. Funny that over 12 months on, and there are still massive shortages of this game.

Just wanted to ask, as all the different bundles are confusing me, what does the absolute base set cost - and what does it come with?

Ta!

Jonathan

PS: I found http://www.wiipreorder.co.uk/ which is supposedly right on the ball in relation to who has what in stock.

Base set = 1 Wii + 1 controller + Wii Sports...that's it. To get a second controller you have to get Wii Play - (Game + controller for £30)

New addition to the Wii family

Post by padmole »

Hi all - esp. AK
I am pleased to join the Wii family - unbelievably the wife bought it for me for xmas!
I have bought Zelda, Bazookie, rabbid rabbids, brain academy, smarty pants and have sonic olympics coming soon.
Really want to get Woods 08 but have become addicted to Zelda so need to finish that first.

Has anyone been able to get the internet link working? If so, then can I do it with my wireless that I have in the house?

ANy thoughts and top games info would be appreciated.

Mate bought Guitar hero and 2 guitars etc and additional music the other day - spent over £100 on 1 game. Good fun but not as user friendly as a dance mat game if you have friends over (Dexterity requred!).

Only played golf and bowling on the sports - Have scored 239 bowling and -5 for 9 holes. Must improve to make sure I can beat Adrian!

Cheers

Does anywhere sell these consoles without the pesky bundles??? :x Comet have them in now, but with games I don't want, plus a silly laser gun - all for almost £100 more than the core basic console.

I want the basic console Wii sports pack and controller + 1 extra controller... please!

Yep! But my choice - it isn't forced on me. The bundles I am seeing contain absolutely nothing else I would want - and very few even include an extra controller in the bundle.

Edit: In fact, it isn't even a bundle - I want to buy them separately. Core console and an extran controller - and maybe the controller recharger.

I notice on the bowling screen shot, the graphics look pretty good. What is all of this about the graphics being poor? Is that just a comparison against the HD graphics of the Xbox and PS3?

Wow!

These are impressive. I can't get higher than 67 on the bowling, the ball just keeps curving away into the gutter. :?

288 must be a lie.

I'm not shite though, I've had a couple of strikes. 8-)
