Re: Tottenham 2012/13 General Chat & Starting X1 Thread
I agree positions 3-7 are too close to call at the moment.
Rafa is doing his best to lose games
Everton look flakey at times.
Spurs have injury problems but are keeping on going
Liverpool - We have the easiest run in of all the teams from 3-7
and Arsenal well what can you say about them?

Togo out of the ACN - but, especially after extra time against BK, one wonders if Adebayor will be ready in time for a full game against Newcastle on Saturday lunchtime.

Yeah right - keep saying it enough you may even start to believe it!AkNotSpur wrote: although my preference would be to win a real trophy and not the Wenger Cup.

6 days off is 4 more than most internationals will be getting.AkNotSpur wrote:Togo out of the ACN - but, especially after extra time against BK, one wonders if Adebayor will be ready in time for a full game against Newcastle on Saturday lunchtime.

5 days (Mon-Fri inclusive), including a long flight and he's just played 4 games of tough, competitive football in 2 weeks - not a minimal shift in a friendly.murf wrote:6 days off is 4 more than most internationals will be getting.AkNotSpur wrote:Togo out of the ACN - but, especially after extra time against BK, one wonders if Adebayor will be ready in time for a full game against Newcastle on Saturday lunchtime.
When he has recovered, the hope is that the tournament will have sharpened him up. As he didn't have a proper pre-season or play a lot in the first half of the season, Adebayor should have plenty left in the tank for the remainder - the question mark (as ever) will be his motivation.

Is Dawson likely to keep his place now Gallas is back?

Watching the Celtic v Juventus game, it's interesting that the Nigerian Ambrose made it back to Glasgow in time to play, for Celtic, only 48 hours after the final of the ACN. Ok, he obviously wasn't ready to play, and had a shocker, but at least the intent was there. By all accounts, it took Adebayor longer than that to get out of bed after Togo's exit.
Given that, alledgedly, Adebayor also broke a promise not to go to the tournament he must be on very dodgy ground with Daniel Levy and there are rumours that he will be offloaded in the summer - although, given his wages, that may be easier said than done. In the iterim, he is pretty important to Spurs and his state of mind will be a key factor in the upcoming North London derby - should be interesting as Arsenal and their fans will make every attempt to get him to lose control again.

Just been reading the latest announcement from Haringey council
http://www.haringey.gov.uk/922.6_hrw_co ... on_8.2.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Thought it had all been agreed, Sainsbury are building there bit, but the rest not likely to start earliest would think 3 years (could be longer depend which of 3 options they go for) and be at least another 3 before Stadium ready, whats gone wrong.
Earliest likely to be 2019, more likely 2021 thats insanity, cant understand why Spurs fans are not questioning whats going on.

Re: Tottenham 2012/13 General Chat & Starting X1 Thread
I guess some, like me, really can't see the sense in developing a modern 50,000 seater stadium in that area unless there is a significant improvement in the infrastructure. Tarting up WHL station isn't really going to be enough. These days I doubt if many who can afford to attend live within walking distance or an easy bus ride, so bumping the crowds back up to the levels of old is going to cause chaos. Maybe the whole project will re-generate the area, but given the overall state of the British Economy, I have my doubts.mikeg13 wrote:Earliest likely to be 2019, more likely 2021 thats insanity, cant understand why Spurs fans are not questioning whats going on.
