Exactly. I've seen doubts about his consistency (no surprise as he is young) and his ability to cope with the physical game but we'll see. He sounds very talented and it isn't that big a price for the market. I'm hopeful (but not getting over excited) :D

If the Emperors New Clothes starts with the "Crab" Allen tonight then i fully expect Liverpool to lose. It's a blessing Borini is out for the season as he is not far behind Allen in the poorest players to ever play for Liverpool bracket. Rodgers ought to be shot with some of the so called great signings he has spunked money on so far. 26 million on Allen & Borini FFS.
The only thing Allen brings to any team is Negativity.............

I'm not disagreeing with you, but why was Allen seen as so important in a successful, attacking and styling Swansea team last year?

Not in my opinion. I dissed the signing from the beginning. I said Allens worth was correctly priced by the Sun in their fantasy game at £2 million.

Infact i've dug out the thread i was even more scathing..

He fits "The Project" quite well.

Although its questionable whether "The Project" is going to be successful. In fact, were Swansea decent (that's all they were) because of it or despite it?

Yes Allen definately fits the project of speeding up the process for the Emperors to be found out and outed- if he puts him back in the team. I would go as far as to say Liverpool could play better with 10 players than with Allen becuse at least then they would attack more than be a negative unit as Allen does not know the meaning of a forward pass- and when he attempts one its misdirected and play breaks down.
Allen is dogshite! I'm wondering if the Emperor has had a Eureka moment and a stay of execution by not playing him.

Allen was good early season, he was a pretty good as a Lucas substitute but...

a) He has been dreadful recently, a real change in form
b) I have yet to see anything, from him for Liverpool, that suggests he is an attacking or creative (ie. non-defensive) midfielder which is what his reputation is as.

This is a rare event in that I agree totally with sleuth. As I've said in other threads, Allen is the master of the pointless pass. How often do you see one of his passes taking even one opponent out of the game. He's a killer of momentum.

I've appreciated some aspects of Rogers, but to pay what he did for Allen represents a huge question mark over his judgement.

The team in full is: Reina, Johnson, Enrique, Agger, Carragher, Lucas, Allen, Gerrard, Henderson, Downing, Suarez.

Subs: Gulacsi, Coates, Wisdom, Shelvey, Assaidi, Suso, Sterling

I wonder if Joe 'The Crab' Allen (copyright Sleuth) will be playing ACM tonight with Henderson wide left. I would've prefered to see Henderson ACM and Assaidi or Suso wide left.

Suso, Sterling and Shelvey do not have the required discipline to keep tight when we don't have the ball.

Btw Sleuth - Allen has just scored

Live with it Achilles, the only thing Allen would be useful for would be for my
17 stone to pick him 4 time a day and use him to wipe my
eff arse!

I,m also tired of seeing Rodgers come out at the end of every
Game and express he thinks the lads were incredible tonight
Pass the sick bag, there were several players that were dire
Tonight,

Sleuth the lads were amazing tonight.
The only problem tonight was our defensive issue with Carra, as Carra is retiring at the end of the season we should invest in that position to strengthern - Kjaer would be a good signing.

I can't think of several players who were dire though.
