Skoko, he's a squad player. If injuries happen then he'll come in, he's not a first teamer. As far as I'm aware he's fit & available.

Good spot. I cannot find any info on this. He's in the squad for today's match.beardedlady wrote:Glasgow, as the only Latic on here do you know anything about Koumas?
Didn;t play in the Wales international. Is he ok for the weekend? He is getting well involved in each game, soon to score points I wager.
It appears that Koumas is enjoying his free midfield role!

Marcus Bent will go straight into the Wigan squad, but fellow new signing Rachid Bouaouzan will not feature.

The Wigan official site match preview:
Latics look set to be without the services of Ryan Taylor who Steve Bruce has rated as 'doubtful' following his ankle injury picked up in the FA Cup at Sunderland. However Antoine Sibierski, who was another who left the field before half time at the Stadium of Light, looks to have recovered enough to play some part in the game. Bruce will be forced into a re-shuffle of the back as Paul Scharner picked up his fifth card of the season at Anfield 10 days ago and will sit this one out.

Latics V Everton
Sunday 13h30
Left-back Erik Edman could go straight into the Wigan side for Sunday's visit of Everton if his £500,000 transfer from French club Rennes is confirmed.
With Ryan Taylor (knee) and Carlo Nash (broken leg) the only absentees, boss Steve Bruce has nearly a full squad.

Best I can find is BBC team news:
Marlon King should make his Wigan debut after his £5m move from Watford. Swedish full-back Erik Edman is also in contention after signing from Rennes, although manager Steve Bruce has no fresh injury worries.

You may get some clues from this - the local Wigan rag reports:
Steve Bruce hopes a spell of alternative therapy has got Emile Heskey firing on all cylinders again. The Latics striker spent four days last week with a specialist in Oxford trying to cure a back injury which has dogged him since he returned to action from a fractured metatarsal. [...] He hasn't had the benefit of a properly-fit Heskey in his three months in charge at Wigan.
Bruce said: "Without a game last week, we were able to send Emile to this fitness guru in Oxford to see what could be done. His lower back has been locking up, so the treatment involved a lot of manipulation, massage and swimming, while there was a bit of yoga too. Our physio Dave Galley wanted to go down that route and we were happy to support him and see if it could benefit Emile. And in the last few days of training, we seem to have got the old Emile back again which is great.
"He was out of action for three months with his broken foot, and six weeks of that he spent in plaster. That is a problem for a guy of his huge frame and he's just had a series of niggling injuries since. I've always said it takes the equivalent length of time you're out of action to get back to full fitness. So if you're out for a year, in my view it's another year until you're back to somewhere near your best. With Emile, he was out nearly three months and now we've had him back for three months, so hopefully we can start seeing the best of him."
Heskey will lead the attack tomorrow and hopefully inflict more pain on the manager who brought him to Wigan for a club-record £5.5m 18 months ago. [...]
Bruce is set to include Erik Edman in the squad tomorrow, possibly handing him a debut at left-back with Kevin Kilbane moving forward on the wing to take the place of the injured Ryan Taylor. It's unlikely that another January arrival, Erik Hagen, will feature though. The Norway centre-half still needs to work on his fitness following his arrival from Zenit St Petersburg.

Once again, FA squared on the official site about team news so we'l have to rely on the MuEN's preview:
Wigan boss Steve Bruce has the luxury of a full-strength available for Sunday's visit of Barclays Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Ryan Taylor is fit again after a month out with a rib injury while fellow midfielder Kevin Kilbane has recovered from a bruised foot. The pair could both be competing for one spot on the left wing with Jason Koumas, who performed ably in the position in last week's draw at Manchester City. Honduras winger Wilson Palacios is set to feature against the team with whom he had a trial last year.

Wigan are the new Fulham when it comes to team news so here's something from the MuEN:
WIGAN striker Emile Heskey has been given the all-clear to play in Sunday's Premier League relegation battle with Bolton at the JJB Stadium. The England international was forced off in last week's goalless draw against Arsenal after suffering a foot injury but scans have confirmed there is no break so Latics boss Steve Bruce could name an unchanged line-up.
On-loan striker Marcus Bent could miss out again through a slight injury problem, while Swedish defender Andreas Granqvist is unavailable after rejoining Helsingborgs this week on loan until the end of the season.

Once again, nowt from pie-land so here's something from the MuEN:
Antoine Sibierski is unlikely to play after sustaining a calf injury while preparing to come on against Bolton last week. Striker Emile Heskey is still struggling with a foot injury - but he and Marcus Bent (shin) should both be available for the game.
Jason Koumas begins a three-match ban after being sent off against Bolton, so Kevin Kilbane is expected to come into the Latics’ midfield at Ewood Park.

A local rag writes:
Meanwhile, the MuEN writes:ABDOULAYE Meite's Reebok future is in doubt after it emerged that he refused to play in the second half of Wanderers' 2-0 defeat at Manchester United. The Ivory Coast centre back complained that he was not fit to continue, but a furious Gary Megson refused to accept the player's explanation and has now ordered him to train with the reserves.
The astonishing half-time bust-up at Old Trafford brought to a head an issue that is believed to have been ongoing since Meite returned from the African Nations Cup in Ghana in February. A Reebok source said Meite had been told he would no longer train with the first team squad and would not be considered for the Premiership game against Manchester City on Saturday.
And the official site has this to say:Kevin Nolan and Gary Cahill could both return for Bolton - although manager Gary Megson admits neither would be able to operate at 100%. Midfielder and skipper Nolan is suffering from a persistent back injury while centre-back Cahill is still nursing a bruised foot suffered against Wigan last weekend.
Gavin McCann is another doubt for Wanderers after sustaining a calf injury in Wednesday’s defeat at Manchester United, and Megson rates the defensive midfielder’s chances as “50/50”. Goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen is almost certainly out for the rest of the campaign with a back problem.

The official site:
Michael Brown and Jason Koumas will still be sidelined on Saturday but Bruce has the option of recalling midfielder Wilson Palacios, who is available again after suspension.
