Happy to help with Brentford, though I have seen other fans around here. Forgive me for paraphrasing what I wrote on twitter earlier. Happy to take this to another thread if you like.

There's no Lundstrum-2019-style errors in the list published. I had hoped for a midfield bargain or two but all the players that contribute attacking wise are 5.5

The system will be crucial to working out who is nailed. We played 4-3-3 for a couple of years week in week out until April when we switched to 5-3-2 and played it every game since. The jury is out over whether 2 years or 10 games dictate what the approach will be next season.

Toney the star man of course - 31 goals and 10 assists - works hard, will get interception BPS if that is a thing for strikers!
If you want a reason not to dive in, he did tail off in terms of goals from open play last season, only about 1 from the last 12 games in amongst the penalties.

Mbeumo (5.5 mid) is viable.
He played as striker in 5-3-2 as in the play offs though this is not certain, Forss also an option here. Has also played wing back in this system but not if everyone fit. Not nailed, and was actually benched for the last few games of the normal season before he came in for Forss as the second striker. Blew hot and cold last season but finished the season well - drew a red card and a penalty at crucial moments in play offs. Wide forward in the 4-3-3 system. I expect him to get significant minutes but i couldn't call him nailed.

Canos (5.5) has an eye for goal and will get a few. Might also fill in at wing back at times.

Josh Dasilva (5.5) is also quality and could be the best MF of all but certainly injured until October, last we heard.

Defence wise Henry (attacking LWB but few goals and assists, will get bonus, injured for 3 months until May last season) and Pinnock (headers from set pieces) are nailed when fit and the best 4.5 options. Jansson also first choice but injured a lot and has not yet scored for us - he does come up for set pieces though.

Wouldn't be looking at 4.5 keepers with 5.0 options at Man U and Leicester tbh but Raya will certainly play, don't get temped by the 4.0 guys. Our trusty #2 keeper left and I'll be interested to see if we sign real competition or if we promote one of the cheapies.

If I were picking my team now I'd have Toney and Pinnock. Id probably swerve the MF options until I know who fits in where and spend the extra on Sarr.

Reckon Raya will be no.1? Got turned on by the FPL simulation and seriously considering him to be one of my 4.5 keepers?

Raya will be Brentford's #1 for sure.
He is encouraged to take some risks with short passing out and he had a few notable clangers around January time, but our defence was generally pretty good at the end of last season even when we were playing the decent Championship sides. You may well find people on social media saying he's a rubbish keeper and bound to be replaced but I'd suggest the club and majority of fans don't think that is true at all.

Whether we can build some defensive form will be a big part of whether we stay up and impress people, or end up in relegation trouble - I wouldn't like to call that either way at the moment! We might have to grin and bear the odd painful away day like Leeds did early last season but our biggest games in the opening weeks are at home vs Arsenal and Liverpool so a defender or keeper could be worth a shout.

Do you think that you are better than 12 months ago ie with the players that you sold?

I'd say yes probably a bit, though there was a bit of "swings and roundabouts", we lost something and gained something different.

We lost Watkins and Benrahma but gained Toney and Janelt (defensive midfield man machine), and everyone else gained a year's experience.

6 more points from the latest season showed we were better at holding on to 1-0 wins on worse days. We failed in 19/20 memorably because we lost our final two games when it turned out 3 or 4 points was enough to overhaul West Brom (having blazed back in to contention with 8 wins in a row) - but really we lost a good chance of that top 2 opportunity earlier in 2019/20 because we lost a ridiculous number of games 1-0 - scoring 5, 6 and 7 on good days was fun but we were lacking in consistency.
I'd have loved to see the latest team with Benrahma feeding Toney, had he stayed - I still think Benrahma is the most skilful player we've ever had - but these high profile departures are part of the "model" and as you can see didn't hold us back too much!

So you rate Toney above Watkins?

Could a Green person move this stuff a bit more relevant? Maybe try to restart the Specialist Club Knowledge thread

That's a really tough question!
Toney scored more goals, Watkins scored more non-penalty goals but probably had better service....and had 2 years to develop as a wide player before he became a striker, whereas Toney hit the ground running in the Championship.
Toney will probably make my desert island Bees XI ahead of Watkins simply because his goals were the ones that got us up. His trajectory over the last 2 seasons at Peterborough and Brentford suggests he might end up a better player than Watkins too, though they are only 3 months apart in age.
But in terms of FPL potential for 20/21 I wouldn't rate one much more highly than the other at this stage.

Sorry this has ended up rather OT happy for this to be part of another thread. We can even have an "introducing Brentford" thread if you like.
