I know he's well past it and lost a yard of pace but I wouldn't totally discount Jagielka from making a largely unwelcome return, I hope not, but he will be available again. A real retrograde step if he's preferred.

Yeah, Jags has been one of the best defenders of his generation as far as I'm concerned, but in the past we have had a tendency to not phase out our older players when necessary, and to an extent muddying our opinions of those players as age inevitably catches up with them. Hopefully this regime recognises this issue and addresses it. Appears so with the players brought it, let's just hope we play them now!
