It IS the brum Redmond and AFAIAK, he spent most of his time on the left for them last season and will definitely be competing with Pilks for our LW spot this season (whilst being able to cover Snoddy on the right as well).

Certainly looks that way.

Hughton has shown very little confidence in him since he signed, he does appear to have simply been used to get rid of Morison, and he's also just got concussion playing with our U21 side yesterday!

If he makes 10 apps this season I'll be surprised tbh (and those 10 will either be as a sub or in the cups).

INJURY UPDATES

Scans and X-Ray's have returned clear showing no breaks or fractures just bad bruising for Hooper, this should mean that Hooper will likely miss the Everton game, but be back the following week if all goes well.

Also, Becchio is likely to be available for the Everton game despite his clash of heads for the U21's, but is highly unlikely to feature unless really needed.

Signs are that Bassong is 50/50 to play also, but again may be rested to be 100% for the following week.

I wish you well, and Redmond looks good, and he is on a Watchlist type of thing for me.

I have one of your defenders in FPL

UPDATE

Bassong is not expected to be ready for the Everton game, but should be back for Hull.

Pilkington will also miss out with either Redmond or Olsson expected to be taking the left wing spot.

Hooper is an outside shout to make the bench but is highly unlikely to come on if he does, with Becchio probably used if really necessary.

Fer is suspended due to some silly card rule from the Dutch Playoffs (what relevance does that have in the prem ffs???)

Expected starting XI against Everton is likely to be:

Ruddy
Whittaker/Martin, Martin/R.Bennett, Turner, Garrido/Olsson
Snodgrass, Johnson/Tettey, Tettey/Howson, Redmond/Olsson
Hoolahan
Van Wolfswinkel

Highlighted players are who I personally think will start (probably be totally wrong  )

However, it's also possible that Whittaker will drop to the bench with Martin going to RB and R.Bennett coming in at centre half.

Also, we don't know if Redmond or Olsson will start on the left, or if in fact Olsson will play at LB in place of Garrido with Redmond taking the wing spot (with the possibility of Garrido coming on for either later on).

Line-Up versus Everton

01 Ruddy
02 Martin
03 Whittaker
06 Turner
18 Garrido
04 Johnson
08 Howson
17 E Bennett
22 Redmond
09 van Wolfswinkel
14 Hoolahan

Where on earth is Snodgrass? Not on the bench and everyone seems to be glossing over the fact he's missing on Five Live - did he come back injured from the midweek game?

Heard nothing about Snoddy not being fit, and surprised that Redmond didn't play right with Olsson on the left as well if that's the case!

Still no update ref Snodgrass, sounds like a tweaked groin but club physio's are hopeful that he'll be back sooner rather than later.

Also, looks like we're about to sign Johan Elmander to bolster the strike force, with him likely to be played 'in the hole', replacing Hoolahan for a number of games over the season I'd suggest.

Redmond was influential in the game against Everton. One to look out for.

Snoddy is expected to be back ready to play Hull from all reports and will replace the injured E.Bennett on the right (which he would have when fit anyway).

Whittaker is a more tough one to call, assuming Bassong is now ready to play this weekend, then he'll come in alongside Turner and either Martin will move to RB to replace Whittaker or he'll be moved to the bench. Given Whittaker's pre-season form and excellent display against Everton it would be harsh for Hughton to drop him, but Martin is club captain so who knows?

Also, with the arrival of Johan Elmander, he's now likely to be played 'in the hole' behind RvW, but will likely be rotated with Hoolahan and Hooper over the season (I think this will be Hoolahan's last with us).

No additional info posted here for the new season yet, so thought i'd put in my bit.

Nottingham lad hence the Forest pic on the left, but I live in the East Anglia area so keep an eye on Norwich :)

Not much so far on transfers, so dont expect too many differences in the start of the season to last season in the Championship. Young manager (neil) looks good, but whilst Bournemouth and definately Watford have spent, Norwich's new signings so far are two ex WBA midfielders (Dorrans - who was on loan, and Mulumbo) and probably the loan of Wisdom from 'pool' who was also at WBA last year.

Brady has just arrived today from Hull as the first 'money' signing (around £7m rumour has it) and Van Wolf is back at Norwich after his overseas loan last year when they were in the championship. Signed for £9m for 13/14 in the prem, he got one goal and was a disaster.

Currently Jerome (CF) and Olsson (LB) are injured and have no pre-season. Toffolo currently playing LB in pre season but Brady might start there for the first few games now. He played LB and Mid for Hull last year.
Neil likes to change and rotate his strikers and he'll prob play 4-2-3-1 with Grabban perhaps getting the initial start whilst Jerome is out. Van Wolf and Hooper will compete for that role too and both will be on the bench if Grabban starts.

GK is Ruddy, with probably Martin and Bassong at CB and prob whitaker at RB. Holding MF is prob Tettey and Howson, with Redmond, Johnson and Hoolahan in midfield initially, although any of the new guys might get a MF spot. But once again like the attack, the midfield will have rotation dependent upon home/way and their opponents style etc

So to sum up, at the moment it will be close to last seasons team to start the season. Some easier games at start and much will depend on how they do at the start.

Neil has said "new signings have been difficult".

Might be a tough season, depending on just how good this new young manager is.

Just bumping to hopefully get some updated thoughts on their likely starting 11.

Playing around with the Bournemouth/Norwich rotation which is quite good I think.

They are less unlikely to survive than Watford?

All aboard the Pukki Express?

They’ve sold their best player, never a recipe for success. Otherwise they have pretty much what they had last time around.

Watford have a habit of muddling through with new manager bounces. It was only getting a pasting in that FA Cup Final that derailed them before.
