Joe Kinnear cancels the transfer of center back Douglas who's available on a free and we've been scouting for a good couple of years now.

I like Gomis. Been watching him in the French league for ages. He does come across as consistent. He's not prolific but he does bang them in consistently. Expect between 10 to 15 goals a season.

meant to say he played 90 mins. most of our games have loat all shape after an hour anyway when both sides make 7 subs.Richt wrote:ta very muchMoist von Lipwig wrote:didn't play v St Mirren the other night, did against Blackpool last weekend, nothing of note to report from that. Just remembered that he started off really well for you when he joined, but then soon tailed off. Just wondered if he was showing any sort of improvement to his end of season form

Colo nailed on. Probably Saylor provided he's fit. Whomever it is will get a run, pardew isn't one for rotation.

Ramadan gets earlier every year. Fasting ends on the 7th August this year so it wont be troubling any of your fantasy playersblahblah wrote:Is he affected by Ramadan?

Pre season form is hard enough to evaluate on its own, let alone factoring in things like Ramadan. They all stuff their faces at night anywayblahblah wrote:Indeed, but it is happening now...

Not quite the same though is it... I've just spent two weeks in Turkey and trust me you could tell who the fasters were! They put a good spin on it in a BBC doc shown before the Wimbledon final but I bet the fitness coaches hate it.rossn13 wrote:Pre season form is hard enough to evaluate on its own, let alone factoring in things like Ramadan. Looks good to me, just missing Haidara as a fullback. You could add Sammy Ameobi (forward) who's back from loan this season.Vid wrote:Anyone with any ideas of N-E France please check the OP for squad list accuracy

Paul Dummett (full back) been getting a lot of game time pre-season and apparently playing well, Adam Campbell (forward) will get a few run-outs in first team providing he don't loan him out.Vid wrote:Anyone with any ideas of N-E France please check the OP for squad list accuracy

Taylor or MBiwa to partner Coloccini for the opener? Taylor's pace against City's stars would worry me but I think he will get the nod?

Exactly what I'm thinking. From a fantasy football perspective I'm staying well clear!WilBert wrote:Taylor or MBiwa to partner Coloccini for the opener? Taylor's pace against City's stars would worry me but I think he will get the nod?
On another note, Remy is out for a month and Adam Campbell has been loaned out for a season... I can only presume due to the abundance of strikers currently in the squad.

Re: Newcastle 2013/14 General Chat & Starting XI Thread
He's got a good chance of starting this weekend but only because our 1st/2nd choice left backs are injured (Santon and Haidara). He's a no go fantasy football wise imo.
