5G masts and Freeview

Post by Dot »

seems I no longer have a signal from my aerial which is mega-big on my TV'S upstairs in my bedrooms.

Always just had TVs upstairs and had all the free view channels to watch. Never been arsed to have Sky pumping thru the house they rob me of enough money. Just have Sky downstairs ion main TV.

Last night upon turnng the TV on i find a blue screen with message" No Signal " over the screen.

Same message in another Bedroom on my Samsung.

I dont have free view boxes just the outside aerial goes directly into the ulstairs bedrooms.

Speaking to a neighbou this morningr with an outside aerial and no sky said she lost her view around a week ago.

There are 5g masts gone up recently near me with maintenance going on daily as i can see it in the distance..

Has anybody else experienced this.

Is it right because of 5G masts that households have to foot the bill to get an aerial engineer out and rectify the problem at ones own expense?

Wondered if this was garbage or could be based on truth so did a quick google and it could indeed be correct.

https://www.smartaerials.co.uk/blog/wha ... -reception

Can be fixed with a 5G filter apparently.

Treat the link with whatever amount of salt you wish as it is written by an aerial professional who maybe wants the job of fixing your aerial...

In the future it will all be interweb so aerials and, even dishes (and aerial professionals) will be consigned to the annals of history with the walkman and video recorder

(When I moved here 5 years ago I was amazed I couldn't get any signal whatsoever from the aerial on my roof and have relied on Sky ever since so 5G makes no difference to me. Just got Sky Q and that makes it easier to move miniboxes round the house without aerial connections and only has a single monthly multiroom fee so many rooms costs same as 2 (minibox for second room was free and for a third room cost me £50 single payment)).

There are millions of homes without Sky and there are more millions of homes with TV downstairs and upstairs.

Why should the government be allowed to roll out something, in many cases covertly, and leave, i would imagine, thousands of households without a television reception, even though they have aerial sockets and an outside aerial on their house.

If I turn off my sky even my main TV no longer works. Says no reception.

I called a aerial Company last night who confirmed the reason of my lack of reception was indeed a 5G mast. Yet he wouldn't confirm a price to rectify the problem but said he might have to change everything including my aerial( which is about 15 foot high, on the side of my house, I could just see the ker-chings racking up.

He even had the gall to say to me well your aerial is more than a year old( what a chap).
I told him to eff off.

Upgrading my Sky should not be the answer because if and ehen I no longer require Sky it still means I cannot have a tv that works in my house.

Why has this not been publicised nationally and why because 5G are taking the bandwidth that normal tv was transmitted on should the indivudu household be left with sirting the problem at their own expense.

How many millions of people is this going to affect. There are more masts going up daily and I am high upl on the top of a hill with clear views for miles..

I aint bothering with fycking aerial con merchants im going down curry's today for some answers.

Hi Dot. I assume you pay a TV licence still in the UK, they are the ones to lodge a complaint to, and have authority over who and how the airways are utilised. I have a signal detector/ strength measure and it would be easy to see the signal strength your aerial is providing and compare it to a temporary portable aerial. This would let you know for sure that there is no fault with your existing system and therefore not your issue to rectify.
Good luck

Thanks for your advice but i doubt the BBC are going to pay for it. On a side note just been nextdoor to chat to neighbour who has a Q box and broadband superfast.

Their broadband speed are like 28 download and 10 upload. My broadband is 6.87 and 0.78 eff crap.

No wonder im stuck on the vinegar stroke watching porn
