Fanteam €1 Million Premier League 20/21 Strategy & General discussion
Thought I would start a thread where all things relating to the HUGE Fanteam €1M game can be discussed.
Hopefully as this years game will be more popular amongst FISO members we can discuss strategy and maybe share some of the experience gained from last years game.
Appreciate that people often think that these threads contain a lot of misinformation and people are too guarded to share their picks but for me I’m going to be very transparent about my thoughts and plans in the hope that I gain more than I give.
Would be interested to discuss best formations, sub bench and generally discuss info about players and injuries etc.
To kick us off I think that Timo Werner is great value priced at 10m. Playing for Leipzig he
Dominated the German league and with Giroud getting older and with Tammy seemingly out of favour I think he will be locked into start?

Just imagine winning 200,000 Euros!
Then imagine having to pay 10,000 Euros just to get the money you've won!!

I also notice this:
"Each gameweek deadline is 1 hour before the first match kicks of"
So no more decisions based on team news.

From their support page (I don’t think anyone would enter if they were to pay 5% unlimited lol). I suspect it’s more to keep the small winners from withdrawing and just “reinvest” it
There are no fees on deposits, except for Paysafecard, as they have a high fee for deposits: 10%.
Withdrawals
Neteller: 4.95% (max €20, min €5)
Paypal: 4.95% (max €20, min €5)
Skrill: 4.95% (max €20, min €5)
Trustly: 3.95% (max €20, min €2.50)
Wirecard: €5 (bank cards)
Bank transfer: €5
Others: 4.95% (max €20, min €5)

Has van Dijks price gone down from last seasons starting price?

Subs bench should be all base price players. The only exception being if you want to rotate between 4.5 keepers.
I also believe 4-4-2 will be the most popular formation to start the season.

Tough to include Werner when you have proven PL performers Aubameyang, Kane and Vardy in the same price bracket. He will be in less than 10% of my teams unless Chelsea get a ridiculously easy start to the season.

In the interests of balance, I’ve not had a single issue withdrawing several thousand. Submit the PayPal request and money received in 24 hours.
But the fee is still criminal.

I admire all of you trying to pick teams but it’s completely pointless given the way the opening sets of fixtures will be blown apart as the sides in Europe have their games postponed.

Have you tried picking a team yet ? Its hard to get 2 premiums in let alone anything else and thats with an awful bench which wont even play for the respective teams

Re: Fanteam €1 Million Premier League 20/21 Strategy & General discussion
Block makes some really good points.
Point taken about Werner as well...I do have a concern that he may not start right from the off as well and that he will he gradually introduced to the team and league.
Especially good point about the point in picking teams before the fixtures are announced....I’m just looking at general strategy at the moment personally...
Interesting perspective re the subs bench as well block...I did exactly that last season...did see an interesting strategy from some managers where they had a string bench and rotated teams depending on the fixture....
You mention Werner in less than 10% of your teams as well Block...out of interest how many are you thinking of entering?

Is it possible to see the stats on this seasons winner and look at his starting team and changes he made as season went on and captain picks etc ?

Reckon I will enter around 20 teams Ricky - this appears to be the optimal number if you want to manage your teams properly whilst covering a good number of options. It becomes difficult to manage many more than that as Sandor proved last season.

I don't see this happening - they will just have a smaller break compared to other teams. They can't afford to start postponing games as there aren't enough free dates later on in the season.

Two players made it into all 10 teams, but can you guess who they are?

Re: Fanteam €1 Million Premier League 20/21 Strategy & General discussion
It's likely to be mandated:
Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Wolves are expected to be given extra time off by the Premier League and start next season late, should they go into the latter stages of their respective European competitions.
The Premier League is likely to ring-fence a guaranteed 30 days off for players to recover, from the day after their final European game of this season.
The matter will be discussed, and could be ratified, at the next Premier League AGM, which is scheduled for August 6.
If the proposals go through as planned, should Manchester City or Chelsea make the Champions League final on Sunday August 23, their first Premier League game would not be until Tuesday September 22 - 10 days after the official start of the new season.
