FanTeam - FPL game with 250,000 euros of prizes

Post by admin »

FanTeam is a premier league season game that pays out prizes to more than 15% of the entries. Real money prizes of up to 50,000 euros to the winner. Backed up by a stock-listed company, based in Norway, it has a completely different prize structure to the official FPL game which offers little reward (apart from enormous kudos) to the leading teams.

You can see the full rules here - viewtopic.php?f=381&t=130440

Fanteam 640x200 season game.jpg

For the 2019/20 EPL season, they offer a minimum guarantee of 250.000€ to win amongst the players. The prizes for the main event are spread among the first 15%, which ensures that even newer players will have a good chance of recovering their entry fee. The first prize is 50.000€ and should be easier to reach with the 12,000 player entry cap, than on the official FPL tournament, with millions of participants. The most important prize facts for you are summarised:

250,000€ minimum guarantee
50,000€ for the first prize
1,250 prizes in total!
Prizes to the best monthly manager - 1,000€
Prizes to the best gameweek manager - 400€

Different Rules

There are some minor differences to FPL. First of all, FanTeam has no chips. They preferred to keep things more simple, and the only thing similar to a chip are the two wildcards for transfers, which the official FPL also applies.

Price changes happen at random times, whenever there is a drastic demand increase or decrease.

There are also some slight points scoring differences. At Fanteam, the midfielder and forward receive 1 point more if they play the entire game. There are also no bonus points, instead they implied an “impact” factor, which is awarded to the player with a positive or negative point, depending on whether the team was winning or losing while he was on the pitch. The entire rules can be found at FanTeam.

FanTeam is a great option for those looking to raise the stakes a bit. It can be played easily alongside the official FPL game, since the main concept is very similar and the prices don’t vary too much either.

Try post code without a space between the 6 digits.

25 euros entry fee.

Why not GDPR compliant?

Any ideas if this is a safe league to enter?

Losing my entry fee wouldn't bother me but some git swanning off with a collective fortune would.

Don't know about safe, but guaranteed €250,000 euro prizes

break that down if 10,000 pay €25 thats the €250,000 paid out, the other 2,000 teams then add an extra €50,000 which they take as their rake - 20% , seems mighty high to me

so they run a game with €250,000 pay out, but charge the entrants €50,000 to run it .....

Can't find much in the terms on the guaranteed "payout" - but suspect its only guaranteed when they get the 12,000 entries and can therefore make their €50,000

I see they also have another league with €5,000 first prize and as far as i can tell the buy in is €2,625 ... strange one

seem to change their dots, spaces and commas around from page to page when specifying € amounts....doesnt exactly fill me with confidence

The tick box for marketing is pre-ticked. It should be unticked so that accepting marketing isn’t the default.

If the tournament reaches the max 12,000 entrants (300,000 euro pot) then yes that would leave 50,000 for their running costs, marketing fees, taxes and profit. If they get 8,000 entries (200,000 euros) then they are making at least a 50,000 euro loss.

Rules state the 250k prizes are guaranteed and the tournament works like say Draftkings so the lower the number entered in the tournament the more likely there will be further entries. There's no way the entries will stay at the approx 300 there were yesterday given the guaranteed prizes on offer. I think good FPL players will fancy their chances of finishing in the top 1,800 out of 12,000 and there's a chance less than 12,000 will enter.

On the continent 12,000 would be written 12.000 as they use a dot rather than a comma.

Well it is backed by a stock-listed company, based in Norway, which helps.

Hopefully I can let you know that I got my 50,000 euros winnings next year. Payment of weekly and monthly prizes during the season will help as well.

lol 😆 I just meant as in on some pages it shows dots for others commas and others spaces as the money separator - doesn’t seem to be consistent (even on the same premier league page between both games)

Saying that I will probably enter and take my chances, says start date 23rd August ?

Just a little sceptical , maybe I’m getting to old :)

I wish they'd name the "stock listed company" so we could confirm it with them.

if their game is fairly similar to FPL, are they not at risk of legal action?

23rd August is latest you can enter the tournament (assuming the max 12,000 has not been reached) but obviously late entries at a disadvantage to those entered before EPL starts on the 9th.

and per their published accounts to 31 March 2019, the condensed parent company balance sheet for Scout Gaming Group AB (founded in 2014) had net assets of approx. 84m Swedish Krona (approx £7m) and the Nasdaq First North in Stockholm exchange has them valued at £22m (listed in Dec 2017) with approx 80 employees.

Its share price has tanked a fair bit over the last year (hit 52 week low yesterday) but on a more positive note their board all have quiffs. Had some US investment.

Note it's listed on the Nordic Nasdaq rather than the main exchange as admin notes. They have a pretty relaxed attitude to profitability.

Interesting from an investment perspective - if they get anywhere near 12,000 I might have to buy some shares!

12,000 entries to win €50,000 that could be around £75,000 by the end of the season. Them's relatively good odds. Might have a punt.

Note also get in the top 10% you get your money back or better.

Send me a PM with the card companies and I'll try and find out why they're not accepted.

P.S. I use a Monzo Bank debit card www.monzo.com (or PM me for a link which will give you £5 free added to your account when you join) for Euro payments (e.g when abroad) as they don't charge any fees and you get the inter bank rate. Very easy to apply for online and then manage via their app. I just stick cash on it when needed and it's an instant transfer from my other bank.

Looks like the post code and the GDPR issue have been fixed by FanTeam after I sent them feedback.

Still only 346 entries into the FPL tournament.
