For those with multiple team is there any way of manually checking for which of your teams you have already used your 2nd wildcard for?

Yep! Up to 104th with my single entry.

Although I did take a punt on Pepe

Had that triple up for a while so yes.

Had a reasonable night and trod water falling from 249th to 254th. Aguero as captain so hopefully he starts next game and scores and Sterling doesn't.

Did the same on FPL, hopefully he will start tomorrow, at least the better of the two games if he was only going to play one. Same goes with Aguero owners too I would have thought.

yes but two things here, firstly fpl had already blundered and allowed transfers during the lockdown so really had little choice. secondly fanteam are governed by IBAS who gave a very clear ruling that any seasonal bets 'should stand on the same terms'. thirdly anyone with a transfer carried forward should at the very least have been awarded +4 as that is the cost of taking a transfer beyond your allowance, instead they stole it for '0'

fantasybet had no choice really but to void with so many games not compleded, annoying though it was, as they clearly needed to get away from their 'white label' arrangement with viral interactive.

in my view fanteam should do the same as the structure of the comp has changed and some players will miss due to many contracts finishing after the season.

i suspect they will do what the hell they like based upon which way the wind is blowing, who bends their ear most, or whatever but they won't follow IBAS guidance nor will they be just and equitable.

it's a pay to play game that should either be played according to IBAS guidance and rules or not at all, that is the difference (to fpl) and where in my view fanteam have been shockingly bad over this issue.

So how are we all doing with 5 GW left?

I'm 127th with my single entry, which is better than expected. Massive squad value so I have too much choice if anything.

Kane may make an appearance this week given how pants Bournemouth seem to be.

Anyone in for the proper money?

3,514th at the moment but since the games begun again have moved up around a 1000 places. Maybe people not taking the game as serious but I’m hoping to get within the 1,200th Rankings to at least get my money back. My team is in good shape, possibly move another 500 places by the end of this week with strong City, Liverpool and man utd players in my 11

I'm in position to get my money back on one team, but the one I set up to try and capture a weekly prize is (as you'd expect) doing poorly. My triple Southampton defence nearly paid off this week though :-)

I was up to 90th a couple of weeks ago but made two or three stupid decisions trying to make ground on the leaders. I'm 230th now.

Think the best I can aim for is a top 100 finish.

decided to punt on a block Sheff Utd defence. Good decision.

Up to 59th, but I fear others have more players to come. And at present they are giving me Saka as first sub, so I really hope Mane does not come on ... or does, and scores a hat trick!

Wonder if I can stay top 100 by end of the week?

Good luck all.

I hear on the grapevine that next season's FanTeam Season-Long Premier League game is going to be big and should launch ahead of the other 20/21 games.

Also there is a 100k FanTeam Premier League game for the last day of the season 26th July when all 10 games kick-off at 4pm - 20 euro entry with 1st prize 20,000 euros and max 7,000 entries (prizes paid out to the top 1,111 places). The 2 euro entry game has a 1,000 euro top prize.

Looking forward to it. Really enjoyed this year's seasonal game. I think it will be my main focus going forward.

4 transfers to try and nail a decent final position.

GW35 tricky. It has to be Vardy. But that means losing Rashford or Jesus. Hmmm.

Yep, not many decisions to make now. Good luck raoul!

Doesn't look I will make any ground up this game week but am still aiming for a top 100 finish. I need to get my last few captains right.

Yes, good luck Raul - you've had a fine season. It has taken me a while to adjust to the format and I probably haven't given this the attention it deserves, still I have halved my rank since lockdown and am now in position to get my money back; next target is making a small profit.

Thanks AR.

I have really enjoyed Fanteam. Probably due to decent results of course, but I love the format and lack of chips. The value accumulation is perhaps a tad generous (I am up to 114m) given the player pricing but nice to have some cash incoming hopefully!

I'd agree with all of this. A lot of the value accumulation is down to getting the full profit on players rather than only 50% in FPL (although it is a lot less than that on average in reality). It's quite nice to be able to sell players without worrying about losing the value if you want them in again but the result is large team values - I'm over 110m despite ignoring price rises all season.

It's getting very exciting at the top watching those guys compete for the big money - the guy in 2nd place gave Antonio the armband

That's why these guys are on next level - imagine ignoring the likes of Salah, Mane, KdB and Vardy for captaincy this week to give captaincy to a cheap midfielder.

Premium strikers are a waste of time on this game - much better to go for premium midfielders.

After 1 season I suspect we are all beginners!

But I really like this game and am putting together my own learning points for my reference and will post in a day or three.

this is the conclusion I came to, these players have multi teams and are probably syndicates as well, not saying they don't have great skills, forsight, brains and knowledge of the game,
but they can afford to enter multiple teams up with variables like C Antonio in a few of their teams and popular picks in the others in case the variable fails, I have noticed in the short games the winners have gone outside the square and lucked with a captain pick that not many others chose as captain. You can do that when your entering multiple teams and and once a big lead is established at this time of the game particularly or during the season even lucking out on wildcards at a different time to the Herd, it's hard to catch those differential points surges, only with many teams can you play that way.

Here are my observations from my first season of Fanteam. For the record my single entry is 80th as I write this, so presumably have been doing something right somewhere. Let’s hope it is judgement rather than luck.
I would hope some others can add to this, especially those who have gone multi team entry.
SQUAD VALUE
My current squad is worth north of £114m. I had £6m itb before this week and my current Sub 1 is Vardy.
You get to keep all value rises. Which means a strong squad as the season progresses. I think it also means playing WC1 early makes sense, to ensure a good lineup accruing value asap, and playing WC2 early is perhaps less of a risk given good team value makes later transfers easier. Maybe.
POINTS
There is a 1pt bonus for players on the pitch for a winning team. This accentuates the value of players from the best teams of course. I suggest you compare Firmino and Ings points in Fanteam v FPL, for example…
Other than that, I think the points system is pretty similar to FPL.
PRICING + POSITION
Similar to FPL, but with some differences and in some cases quite large ones. Generally, these differences on price seemed favourable in Fanteam.
DEADLINE
Is 10 seconds before GW starts, so we can know lineups for the first game at least.
CHIPS
2 x WC, and that is it. Must admit I quite like the simplicity, and it means WC timing is very important.
SCORE UPDATES
Watch out.
Your VC gets captain points doubled up until the C actually plays, and they also do your autosubs up front, meaning your score (and that of other teams) might not quite be what it seems…

I will leave it there for now, but if I can think of anything else that seems useful will post.

You also get the 1 point bonus for mids/strikers completing 90 minutes, which doesn't happen in FPL as far as I'm aware. In a normal season without injuries that would probably mean an extra 20-30 points for Kane (rarely subbed) over Aguero (nearly always subbed).
