Tonight should be interesting in terms of the battle for the top dog on FISO.
For Bayern we've got my Sane, Coman and Muller vs. Rickys' Choupo-Moting

Your forgetting something Block....
Oh yeah, I’m ahead of you with a lead and with a certain Mr Neymar Jr upfront in addition to the cheapest Bayern midfielder actually playing OOP as a striker.
Oh and dont forget super Mason Mount and the “secret weapon” Chilwell.
There can be only one.

PSG goal good news for us with no Bayern defenders in top teams, need that Chelsea clean sheet though to make any real progress.

Re: €250K Champions League Knockout phase - discussion
I know! Fingers crossed for us mate.
Not to many of the top Hundo have Mpabbe or Neymar anyway...
Need Chilwell to do well for me and mason to breach the almost impenetrable Porto defence (ironic if they keep another cleanie and we all missed them).
Most of all.
Above everything... I would LOVE a Choupo-Moting goal!!
Half of the risk has paid off already just having him on the pitch....
I hope they Bayern get a pen!!

I don't mind the Choupo-Moting goal - it means Chelsea is the only cleansheet left in play tonight.

Muller just equalised from Kimmich.
Should help you Block.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind the games ending now!
But...,seeing as they can’t....I’ll take another super choupo goal and another Neymar assist!!

What we really need is a Chilwell assist or goal to separate us from the rest of the Chelsea defensive blocks - not much movement when the cleansheet points got added because almost everyone has the double or triple up at the back.

Thanks, but it won't make much difference to me in terms of the big money. Hopefully, I can take a small profit and attack the euro game.
Will you play solid and go for top 10 or go for the top 3 by continuing with differential picks? Think I know the answer

Re: €250K Champions League Knockout phase - discussion
I’ve not been on here for quite some time but having just had a look at the champions league leaderboard to see how my teams are doing (23rd) I see Ricky flying high and I remember some years ago he seemed to always get stick for how he approaches these games. I felt it was only right I popped on here to say well done lad . Seing his name up there made my day. Good luck to you and the others flying high.

Ha!
Mystery shopper, a blast from the past.
Not surprised to see you right up there, I will be checking your team out for sure!
Thanks also to everyone for the nice words.
Personally I will update my diary soon for a laugh but be great to get some advice/feedback on anything that anyone may feel is relevant or could help in anyway.

Bayern defence would have been a great differential tonight considering what happened last week.

Re: €250K Champions League Knockout phase - discussion
I had them in my 2nd team.
Switched them from a dodgy Liverpool block which ironically my 3rd best team still retains.
Foresight and hind site and all that.
I think all the talk was about Mbappe etc...not many got that one right.
Kudos if you did.

I am kicking myself, had De Bruyne as captain but tried to clever and made Olivera captain instead for 4 pts!
a big shame as I had Neuer and Alaba in my teams, jumped 2000 places though. Have Benzema, Stones, Dias, De Bruyne, Mendy

Trouble is so does everyone else mate.
Well done for being brave with your captain pick mate, you had to do something.
Don’t lose heart, keep trying, it will come.

Re: €250K Champions League Knockout phase - discussion
In both foresight and hindsight the safety net in this comp was silly.
Anyway, what’s the template for the final stage?
3 x City
3 x Real
2 x PSG
3 x Chelsea
I guess the only hard bit is the budget as tough to squeeze Neymar and Mbappe in as your two write off PSG players

it's strange than from the next round the 3x player per club rule is extended to 5, this in essence means you can't fully back 2 teams in the semi's as you'll have to chose 1 player to go against, should have been 6 players, to you could have 65 rather than 551. Also means in the final you'd have 10 players on the pitch rather than 11.

it's 5 players per club from the game week 11CBN wrote: ↑14 Apr 2021, 22:00 In both foresight and hindsight the safety net in this comp was silly.

The maximum number of players from any club is 3 in the first 4 game weeks, in game week 11 the max is 5 players from any club

Ah hadn’t appreciated that. Makes sense. It means it’s basically a bet on who makes the final then.

Re: €250K Champions League Knockout phase - discussion
In essence yes.
But for me there is a huge level of complexity to
week 11.
I’m
Not even sure if the optimum is to pick 5 for each side?
If you get it right you of course get 10 in the final but if one side goes wrong you would only end up with 5.
So maybe there is a hedge factor because if you did employ the model CBN suggests above then in theory you would end up with 6 players in the final.
Obviously I would prefer 10 but that’s a huge risk strategy.
I guess it depends on what you want to get from the game?
As a bankroll builder it’s probably safer to go 3.3.3,2 but if your playing to win and have the minerals it’s 5.5.1
I have one eye on the euros so need a roll so I hope thatbdoesnt bias my decision

eff that Ricky.... If you hedge you will end up ca 100-200th and win little as everyone below will be going full attack.
If you go full attack you could get a 4-5 figure score or end up 300th+ but win virtually same as 100th anyhow.
You have to go for it

Not sure if budget permits as I’ve never looked at this game Ricky but this is how I’d go if I was going all out!
