FPL DRAFT MONEY LEAGUE 2018/19 - CANCELLED

Is there any likelihood of this happening at all fellas? Even with a reduced number ( 8 or 12 etc). If not I'll spend the cash elsewhere.

So long as I can make the draft id be up for it . Is it worth bulk PM'ing folk ? I appreciate Taca went to a lot of effort for nothing so entirely understand if there was no intrest in re-opening this for a smaller league game. Just thinking if it is to be reopened it may be worth removing the ' Cancelled ' out of the title

Taca has started a league for the 6 who paid, I think if others want a paid league they need to declare soon, i believe those on here that are not in that league are.

Apologies but I don't like winner takes all games as your season could be over in a month or 2 I would definatly have wanted trades too.i wasn't sure about the game last season but thought the trades would have made it a bit more intresting . I didn't know Taca had set up a league already , only reason I couldn't pay him was I had no draft date. If you can't join the draft you may as well throw your cash down the khazi

It's fair enough, it's just it's a difficult system to make work - if you have smaller league it's clearly going to be more competitive but the prize money diminishes, a bigger league will have more money but 3/4 of entrants are out of contention by the end of the draft. I remain unconvinced that a league any bigger than 6 is competitive for all entrants.

I don't think you're annoying anyone at all but I do think it's indicative of the problem FPL draft faces.

In general, I think it needs to be a cash league to keep people interested, but with so few people even expressing an interest, if some of us will only play H2H, some with trades, some with 6 teams some with 10 and if you add in a preference for winner takes all (or not) and the draft date (which I agree is crucial but can surely be arranged) then I doubt we're gonna manage enough signed up members for any substantial league, and that's really what the issue was with the cancelled money league.

I think there were 18 or 20 teams signed up last year (maybe because it was new and exciting) and this year, 6, with the late flurry of interest that could possibly make another league of roughly equal size if everyone commits.

I do understand that with money on the line it's hard to play if you don't like the rules, but maybe those interested in playing the draft in a particular way with particular rules could just run a short 8-10 week competition each for a small entry fee, and then over the season we would all participate in different types of draft game, some which we may like less than others and some which we may bypass completely.

I'd be happy to administer one such competition and if we could arrange a chain of them we might be able to even re-invest winnings

I might do a £1 big league with the draft during Christmas week, say 16-20 of us, would be hilarious to see the absolute crap some of the teams are left with

Agree with what you say Mav. It's almost impossible to please every one and every one has different requirements in order to make the game worth spending cash on. Think Taca played a blinder managing to organise the one last season.

Would just ask you all to reconsider the trade option. In a money league where everyone doesn't know each other equally well, it could really kill the enjoyment if a couple of players used the trade option to collude and substantially disadvantage others. The trades make the whole game more volatile and, in reality, hand a bid advantage to players who know each other well.

I'll go with majority it's only fair but I can assure you the majority of guys that have joined are very well known respectable folk with good reps from what I've known in the 4 odd years I've been here( looking at the list so far) . I for one wouldn't dream of doing such a thing even if I was rock bottom and dead in the water. It was one concern of mine when we spoke about it last year and the topic came up ( it's in original thread for this game last season). I honestly think if any one made an obvious unfair trade it would be frowned up on. You are right with your concern and right to voice it though so like I say , I'm willing to compromise

I've never played one with trades before that's why I'm eager and it promotes a bit of banter and communication between the players which is always fun.

As mentioned above they were also my concerns over trades, I couldn't see anyone on here or in th 6 game thread deliberately colluding but it would still be annoying if trades started to go through near the end of the year if you were 1st/2nd , then had an inpact on the result.
