FPL DRAFT MONEY LEAGUE 2018/19 - CANCELLED

Post by Tacalabala »

I've opened up entries early so that people have more time to pay their fees. Please bear in mind that we must have at least 24 players by JULY 24, otherwise I will cancel this competition and return all money received. It would really help if you could encourage others!

- Structure -
- All entrants will enter two teams into the competition. The combined score of both teams will constitute the entrant's overall combined points score.
- Entrants should include their FISO ID as part of their team names.
- Entrants will enter their two teams into two different six team leagues on FPL Draft, or as we will call them 'divisions'.
- Entrants that are approved by the competition administrator will create six team divisions on FPL Draft. All divisions will start on Gameweek 1. The format (classic or head-to-head), division name and draft times will be at the discretion of the division creator in cooperation with the other league members.
- No two leagues may have the same six members (a maximum of five may be the same).
- A cup competition will be held if we can recruit at least 30 entrants.
- The entry fee will be £25.00, payable to the competition administrator
- At least 24 entrants must play, otherwise the competition will be cancelled and all entry fees refunded.
- For an additional £5.00, entrants can play in an bonus 16 team classic league with a third team, provisional start date of Gameweek 13 (to allow extra time for recruitment and entrants to gain knowledge of players in-season). 16 entrants must pay, otherwise fees already paid will be refunded. Winner takes the total pot of £80.
- The game will be run by me and I will also hold the prize money. You should familiarise yourself with the standard disclaimer.
- All prizes will be paid out at the end of the 2018/19 season.

To enter: CANCELLED

- Prizes -
There will be cash prizes for at least the following:

- 1st place overall entrant (combined score of both teams for each entrant) prize of £175 based on 24 entrants.
- Highest combined scoring division (prize to be divided equally between the league members) prize of £425 based on 24 entrants.

Yes, whatever the game permits will be allowed within this game.

I'll be setting a deadline by which the 24 entrants must be confirmed soon. If we miss this deadline, the competition will be cancelled and entry money will be returned.

Three entries so far...

I know the 24 team league has been cancelled, but I'd certainly be interested in doing an eight-team draft if everyone who declared an interest above is interested in that? If it's a cash league then can just do £20 in each and pay the top two at the end of the season (£100/£60). I'd have a preference for the format of the league being H2H rather than Classic as I think it works better for Draft, but would play either.

Could be intrested. A lot depends on when the draft would take place for me. If I can't attend the draft there is no way id pay to play a game where I can't attend the most important part of it. That's the issue I guess. Getting a time that suits everyone

I'd also want to have a go with the trades option enabled. Just because I've never played that type of draft.

The irony now If 24 people were intrested .

Which could happen as more players come on and start looking for cash leagues etc

I'm sure if 24 people did turn up the league would be back on, but I think even with the interest noted above we're still only about half way there.

If anyone else is reading and interested, please do declare!

Is it worth the league starting after the transfer window?
With money involved one thing that would be annoying would be picking for example kane as 1st pick then him moving to madrid

. I think that's risk you take to be fair and same with picking players who don't start the first gw, they could get inured or anything. I only care about when the draft would be myself. I think this is a bit of info that everyone would need before they decide to commit funds...one reason i was hesitant to pay and commit beforehand. At the same time putting up a date and time could deter people too. It's a tough one to organise

The problem I found is that people aren't actually paying in for one reason or another. If you compare that with the free flow of cash in SDT, you can draw any number of conclusions.

In sdt there is a set off about 15-20 posters that will pay to join virtually anything but they are mostly good players that can win big money so are effectively recycling their winnings?
I think with the draft game, its like marmite you either love it or hate it? So there is a smaller pool on here to work with and a percentage of them are not interested in money leagues.
I think you would get 8 or 12 willing to pay and make a workable game?

Probably agree with this. If you took away all the decent sun players that are expert players who will join anything DT related for cash , I don't think it would be that popular . The DT game is just a novelty game for me , I don't take it serious at all compared to FPL, probably because I'm rubbish at it

What I don't see is how people play draft leagues when there is no cash involved. Don't get it myself, I wouldn't last a week, not as if you have OR to play for. It must be bragging rights but unless they mates I don't get that either but we are all different. Far too much time taken for no real outcome

I do expect a bit of intrest as we get closer to the season starting though. It's always the same with any cash league. I tend to join most of mine very late too

I think the H2H is better too. With trading allowed, some teams will negotiate each other to transfer player in order to deal with the leader team each GW, this made the game interresting.

Is there any likelihood of this happening at all fellas? Even with a reduced number ( 8 or 12 etc). If not I'll spend the cash elsewhere.

So long as I can make the draft id be up for it . Is it worth bulk PM'ing folk ? I appreciate Taca went to a lot of effort for nothing so entirely understand if there was no intrest in re-opening this for a smaller league game. Just thinking if it is to be reopened it may be worth removing the ' Cancelled ' out of the title

I think, with regards to PMs, anyone interested in paying an entry fee who hasn't already done so, should probably PM taca and declare an interest.

I dont think that guarantees anything, but if you're genuinely interested and willing, make it known!

I'm interested - just wasn't sure on over 60% of the prize pot being divided amongst the teams in the best performing league. What was the thinking here? Even an 8-10 man single league with prize money for top 2 or 3 would make more sense to me

Taca has started a league for the 6 who paid, I think if others want a paid league they need to declare soon, i believe those on here that are not in that league are.
