Sounds fair enough to me... are there standard forum rules for this kind of thing?

Personally id like to see more people posting in the sky sports section. Theres lots of members in the fiso league who dont post here other than to sign up. If some new people joined the worst scenario isthey contribute the same as these seasoned fiso members and a few may even become regular posters. Maybe next year the joining rules could be more relaxed for the first month or so To try and encourage new members to sign up. I can understand that more caution is needed later on as peoplewho are doing well may want to sign up for the money with no Iinterest in contributimg to the forum and people who have been in the league from the start would lose out.

Again im sure there must be a standard forum rule for leagues that can win money (e.g. tff or sun?) that we can refer to going forwards

Only just noticed the last few posts on this thread, and felt the need to respond. Players entered into a league after the 30th Sept, cannot help a league towards winning a league prize. IMO no-one should be allowed to enter a league after Sept 30th as they cannot help the league and other members, but only themselves. I do doubt very much whether a player would wish to join a cash league if they were say in 10000th position? However if someone comes along and wishes to join after over half of the season because the are doing really well and it is unfair on all league members who paid to enter at or near the start of the season. The cut off date of Jan 31st for Private League Extra is there to allow people to set up cash leagues for the 2nd half season teams, not for people to enter leagues that have been running for half a season. That said, I'd like to wish dg14133 a warm welcome to the forum, and look forward to competing with him in next seasons fantasy footy games!! :D

Hi I have only just noticed about your free and £5 entry leagues and asked politely if it was possible to enter late.
It was not my intention to upset you or anyone else and I will definitely join your leagues at the beginning of next season.

Hi mate. Please don't take this as anything personal. :) I am not upset or offended, but I was merely stating my point of view on the matter. it is not my decision to make, so I was just making my feelings known. IMO a fantasy football league whether it be free to play or for cash, should be played with a level playing field. I just think that to allow entries after 20 games of a 38 game season should not be allowed.

I actually found this forum in a similar way to yourself. I was playing a game called CYKI and I was doing rather well in it, when I spotted a mini league with players that were scooping up prizes left, right and centre. I searched the league name and here I was!! :D

Dont worry no offence taken.
The season has a long way to go and I have to do a few more posts until I am able to join anyway.
Good luck and hopefully the league will be in the running for 1st prize with or without my help.

Again, nothing personal, but my opinion is that 20 games into a season is too late to allow new entries into a league, especially one that is "pay to play". This league has been on the leaderboard all season if players wanted "in". Now it is apparent it has a great chance of scooping the top Private Paying Prize I'm not in favour that anyone playing the game can pop in just before the deadline, especially at the expense at anyone who paid and joined up before or early in the season (including me  ).

Up to the Chairman's decision, but for future seasons I think a clear restriction on entries should be made clear when the league is set-up, otherwise we could all wait until January, see how we are doing, and then decide if it's worth entering or not.

Cards on the table - I may have signed up to this in September but thought I saw a post in here (but can't find now, so maybe in another thread) that said the deadline is Jan, so I opted to wait until Jan to decide.

That would have been within the rule that I saw, but do agree that rule isn't fair, I'd even say that the deadline should be 1st kickoff in August for any paid league rather than even September. So no complaints here if it's decided that the league's now closed.

As a neutral... 1st kick off should be the deadline for entries in any pay to enter game IMO.

I have a Sky email stating that teams joining a Private Extra league after 30th September do not count towards the league average score.

So that's that - no late entries.

I scored 41 today I think. Seriously regret not holding Aguerro till the end, stupid mistake but judgement was clouded by the Arsenal run and fear of Sanchez running rampant. Probably cost me 2nd in this league.

Didn't mean to stress you out Jon :)
According to the provisional scores I have 36 but Kane got motm I think so 41. Captain Sanchez did eff all which sort of says it all. I've been paying the price for not having him at all during the season and the end brought him in simply to cover the Arsenal run (I brought him the game after he scored 2 against Hull  ). My problem was I had (relatively speaking) quite a few transfers left near the end so decided to systematically break down a good team and load it with Arsenal in the hope they had a couple of big wins with their extra games. It fell flat and the only goals they ended up scoring in the final 4 games were by Walcott with a token Wiltshire effort to add in. The biggest problem was always going to be seeing Aguero scoring in his 2 games to Sanchez not scoring in his 4 - Ag got a goal and and an assist in his 2 games whereas Sanchez got nowt in his 4. It seemed like a good plan but backfired, particularly with Aguero being obvious choice as captain today.
How did you score, provisionally?

I'm the same as you mate i had transfers left and did exactly the same as you, easy games don't always mean more points mate, nobody learns that lesson, including me lol

Thing with Aguero is he can score v anyone can't he at anytime, doesn't matter that his team/team mates are playing poor, there isn't for me, too many players like that in the Prem.

I scored 51 today ( 56 with Kane )

At one point you were skating ahead of me, and last few weeks i have clawed back odd points, your assists were so low, so i was always wondering did you have better defenders?
