If you've got some "sneak-preview", "a-guy-told-me-in-the-bookies" news, maybe you shouldn't be passing it on to the other entrants.Knulpuk wrote:I am in - Sullivan out 1st round

Entries building up nicely now.
I fear there may be a certain amount of rivalry between mr. sheep & mr. cat even before it all starts in a few days time.

Re: Fantasy 2009 World Snooker Competition
As it looks like there won't be 16 FISO entries (unless there's a bit of a late dash), could I suggest the following.
The best 8 at the end of the Round 1 matches go into the FISO Snooker Knockout Cup.
Last 8 - Games to score over Round 2 matches
Last 4 - Games to score over quarterfinals
Last 2 (Final) - Games to score over semifinal & final.
There is also the potential for a tie to occur, so I would suggest most players still in to go through, cheapest entry, and if necessary, lucky dip.
There's currently 10 FISO entrants and 2 days left to enter, so we might just scrape through to the magic number of 16, so there's no panic at the moment, but best to have some contingency plan in place.

Another name to add to the list of mugs who thinks they're going to win :

Shaggy365

We may well get up to the magic number of 16 FISO-ers, even though there's only about 40 hours to get your entries in. (About as much time as a best-of-3 snooker match between Terry Griffiths & Cliff Thorburn, allegedly)

Ah, but if I passed on my team, then I wouldn't be able to change it half way through the competition.blahblah wrote:Fancy pm'ing me your team and I'll tweak it?
Also, I'm top of the table at the moment, and everyone else is joint second. If you were to copy my team, then you'd be joint first and everyone else would be joint third.
You'd also not be able to win the competition outright, as the best you could do would be to finish joint top with myself, and I'm not going to tell you who I would put as being top, and who second.
The values are worked out on provisional points standings as put out by World Snooker. The better players cost more, and the not-so-good players cost less.
Use a pin.

Re: Fantasy 2009 World Snooker Competition - LAST CALL
Last call for anyone wishing to enter.
Closing time is 9:00 am (BST) tomorrow morning. I won't be around then, but anyone getting an email or PM to me will be included (assuming they can add up). After that, you won't be included.

Re: Fantasy 2009 World Snooker Competition - FINAL CALL
As a separate fun aside from Shaggy's main competiton, below is the draw for the FISO World Snooker Championship 2009.
Fivelongbones (E Stevenson) v Jester (?)
Knulpuk (J Clements) v Bluenoseyparker (I Frost)
Bye (14) v GM (G Marsden)
Bye (15) v Surprised (P Thomas)
Bye (16) v Darbyand (?)
Padmole (?) v Murf (J Murfitt)
Spencer4 (J Ravilious) v ToffeeLover (S Cooper)
Dingram (D Ingram) v Shaggy365 (P Whitehead)
The "byes" just came out in that order but they will be taken by any late qualifiers - 3 places remain (by 9am tomorrow). I've tried to fill in all the names from last year - please copy, add your name and paste if you have a question mark next to your FISO name.
The draw will play out as above, so Fivelongbones could play Knulpuk in the next round.
Scoring is the same as last year, thus :-
Last 16 - Start to 23/4 (1st round games)
QFs - 24/4-27/4 (2nd Rd games)
SFs - 28/4-29/4 (QFs)
Final - 30/4 - 4/5 May (Semis and final)
Stand out tie of the first round is Dingram v Shaggy - who will your money be on
Good luck
