Fantasy 2009 World Snooker Competition
Greetings fellow FISO-er's.
After the success of my little competition last year, I've done another one this year. Again, it's free & no prizes, and it is open to the general public, so I need actual names, rather than FISO names.
Enter by email or PM.
Oh yes, the web-site is here

Re: Fantasy 2009 World Snooker Competition
I suppose the most interesting 1st round match is Stephen Maguire v Jamie Burnett.
This is the match between these two where alleged betting irregularities happened at the UK Championship in December. A lot of money was put on Maguire winning 9-3.

There you go. You're down to second.
That's the trouble with being the first to enter a competition. There's only one way to go.

Just like being at work. Everyone wants paying and there's only a certain amount of money. I suppose you can stay at second, until some-one else asks to be put higher up.dingram041 wrote:Am I still second?

Nope, you're still second, although there are sufficient entrants for you to move quite a way down the table once it all starts.dingram041 wrote:Am I third yet?

Re: Fantasy 2009 World Snooker Competition
A few entries in from the FISO masses, but a little disappointing. Just 7 days to get those entries in.
At least I'll be able to devote more time to running this competition now.

That's the thing about running your own competition. You get to choose your rules and you get to choose your scoring system. And to be honest, it doesn't matter what point scoring system you choose, some-one will win and every-one else won't.

Entry received from Mr bluenoseyparker. Another lamb to the slaughter.
Starting to see adverts on the telly about it. Hopefully it will remind people to have a go.

Re: Fantasy 2009 World Snooker Competition
I've had the only wrong entry so far. Usually, I would expect to get about 2-3% of entries that over-spend because they can't add up some numbers.
Step forward Mr Murf who managed to wrongly count to 5 the number of players he was trying to put an entry in with. (I suppose sheep don't have fingers, so it was probably unfair).

Didn't someone do a FISO World Championship last year ? I don't mind doing it this year if I know who's who. Depending on numbers it may have to be the first 16 (if we get to 16!). So far it looks as though we have :-

Re: Fantasy 2009 World Snooker Competition
Mr murf has since submitted a valid entry, once I'd pointed out the error of his ways.
Yes, I'm afraid there are only 7 FISO members entered at the moment:
Shaggy365
GM
Dingram041
Bluenoseyparker
Surprised
Jester
Murf
If you're on personal speaking terms with any other members, perhaps you could give them a nudge in my general direction.
