Whoops. Missed some-one off the competition. So before anyone jumps up & down to complain that I'm trying to cheat, the missing entry is currently in 167th place, which moves me down another place. :o

However, the charge is on. I've leapt 6 places because Shaun Murphy won.

Get in there!!!

If you think you are doing bad, look at this:

182 Jenny Hardenberg (6)(11)(16)(18)(20)(31) 3888

Every one of her players out  Quality

That means once we are all over 3888, we can't come last

But on the other hand, the only person with all 6 threw:

16 Simon Rowlinson 1 9 12 19 27 28 5387

Cat v Sheep update.....

murf
Stephen Maguire 0 - (8-1 up. too easy?)
Mark Selby 806 - OUT :(
John Higgins 941 - SAFE 8-)
Mark Williams 830 - SAFE 8-)
Liang Wenbo 896 - SAFE 8-)
Liu Chuang 0 - (5-4 down, keep going son)

3473 from 4 (ave 868)

Rav4
Ding Junhui 1125 - SAFE
Joe Perry 1116 - SAFE
Joe Swail 835 - SAFE :?
Mark Davis 328 - RUBBISH
Mark Williams 830 - SAME PICK :?
Shaun Murphy 944 - SAFE

5178 from all 6 (ave 863)

So I need to pull back 1705 points (ave 853.5) from my last 2 players to win. It is going to be close.....

EDIT - I am sad enough to have calculated my two scored 1147 between them in their first sessions. Leaves me needing 558 points. If Ronnie fires I'm stuffed. If either/both matches drag on I'll probably just do it.

The voodoo doll of Mark Davis is in the post Sp4

I've temporarily overtaken knulpuck, but only by 88 points. As bad as Anthony Hamilton is playing, he's already scored more than 88 points. :x :x

47 Julian Ravilious 5 8 9 (16) 19 27 5178

206 Jason Murfitt 10 12 (13)(18) 19 30 4138

You need about 450 more tonight. Unlikely.

I need Maguire to lose several tight frames before getting his 2 winning frames. Not gonna happen

That's like the fantasy equivalent of losing on the final black :(

Well played Grant and thanks to Dingram for doing the scores.

Looks like GM is flying the FISO flag in 12th (overall) at the moment, according to the above scores.

Well the first round is over and I don't think I can actually win this competition. Maybe I should have done a different scoring system.

Or maybe I shoul have picked some better players.

I think

158 Julian Clements (2) 5 (7)(14)(16) 25 4686
230 Phil Whitehead 9 (11)(13)(16) 25 27 4319

are these final? If so...

I see the cup as the main competition in a way - I think this where the true skill lies - the league is a distraction.

If not final I will come by and edit later.

ROUND 1 RESULTS

shaggy365 (Phil Whitehead) 4319 v 4686 knulpuk (Julian Clements)
Grant (Grant Humphrey) 4910 v 4830 Bluenoseyparker (Ian Frost)
Surprised (Phil Thomas) 5308 v 4510 Karrde (Daniel Thursfield)
dingram041 (Darren Ingram) 5230 v 5503 GM (Graham Marsden)
murf (Jason Murfitt) 5002 v 5178 Spencer4 (Julian Ravilious)
Five long bones (Eric Stevenson) 4741 v 4830 Nathan247 (Nathan Miller)
Big Bird (Rob Powell) 4448 v 5070 Toffeelover (Shaun Cooper)
djnuttie (djnuttie) 4297 v 4897 bagpuss (Nick Thomson)

Bad luck to dingram041, our third highest scorer who bites the dust. Even unluckier than me as the sixth highest scorer.

knulpuk is the jammiest git as he had the massive fortune to only be up against shaggy365

QFs - 22-28/4 (2nd Rd games)

knulpuk (Julian Clements) v Grant (Grant Humphrey)
Surprised (Phil Thomas) v GM (Graham Marsden)
Spencer4 (Julian Ravilious) v Nathan247 (Nathan Miller)
Toffeelover (Shaun Cooper) v bagpuss (Nick Thomson)

Who is this Shaggy365 character anyway - he lost to me and I picked my selections in a very haphazard way. If I was the organiser of this comp it would annoy me that people like Shaggy so obviously put so little effort in.

Dingram041 - that is unlucky.

Grant your 4 remaining players -v- my 2 next round - hmmmm

Thanks guys, 3rd highest score and played highest scorer.
It's OK though, it's not like we can win anything from the side comp
But then we can't win anything at all except prestige, from any of it :(

Only joking Shaggy.......Enjoying the comp

GM has Ebdon and would put him in strong position if he was to go through  Go Graham!

Cup update - Currently updated after Ebdon/Day/Hendry/Carter 2nd round

Julian Clements 5 25 - 978 v Grant Humphrey 12 25 27 32 - 533
Phil Thomas 5 19 26 32 - 2,113 v Graham Marsden 5 8 19 24 32 - 2,220
Julian Ravilious 5 8 9 19 27 - 1,511 v Nathan Miller 12 25 30 32 - 0
Shaun Cooper 12 25 32 - 0 v Nick Thomson 1 8 24 28 - 3,485

Have only left players in for each person.

Any player number in italic has played second round match!

After update, I would say 3 are going through. Grant Humphrey, Graham Marsden and Nick Thomson look like they are coasting. After 2 matches for Julian Ravilious and not a mammoth score, it could even up the 5 players for Julian against the 4 for Nathan. Would think Nathan is still underdog and would rate him about 7/4 to win.
