Nosey - total points tiebreakers?
It's going to be difficult time wise now but good shout **
Surprised wrote:Tiebreakers could be total frames won or points won?
Again a good shout but the loser on countback would be a bit gutted.

It just may have to be shared. Not great but I can't think of anything fairer.

The 21st frame was abysmal. Had enough chances to win three frames each.

True but I remember the Dott Ebdon final. Things could be worse

Indeed, that was like having teeth pulled.

Hasn't Ronnie been practising with Ebdon to try counter this sort of stuff?

Switched over to Eurosport. Can't stand Willie "Mark phoned me last night" Thorne. Why do the BBC let people with vested interests comment on matches AND get paid for it. Terry Griffiths seems to only commentate on his players and Willie tongue up Selby's arse Thorne only on Selby's matches.

Whilst I'm ranting, Willie Thorne has to be the most negative commentator in the whole world. Even when he's wrong he'll go back to a shot 10 minutes ago and justify his previous comments.

"Yes he missed that final black for a 147 but, as I said earlier, it was the way he went into the pack after that second red is what cost him"

Rant over.

What was Ronnie thinking about on that pink ?

The last two frames resembled pub snooker.

May just update the web-site assuming an 18-14 win to Selby. Ronnie doesn't look like he can do anything about it (or want to do anything about it).

Web-site updated. And yes, Mr blah won quite comfortably. FISO took 8 of the top 12 places.

Same time next year?

OK. You've mucked up your entry.

It's a perfectly valid entry, but there's no way you're going to win having picked those 5.
Nah, it was in the bag before it started

Thanks for the comp, Shaggy, I probably wouldn't watch it without the comp....

The even scoreline makes Yorkskire the Cup Winner :D Bad luck Gilchrist. Jolly good performance from both of you.

Blah taking the league :D (and first in the competition proper as well 8-) ). Blah does seem to be annoyingly good at this. Perhaps we should change the scoring next year ? :P

I'm happy with 4th. One place above Moist. I do hope this order can be replicated in a certain footie predictions comp :P

Let's not forget the ridiculous timescale Shaggy had to sort this comp out - cheers bud :D

Finally, well done Mark Selby. Delighted for him :) . Played his best snooker in the semi- which took a lot out of him - but dug deep despite not being his best and grinded Ronnie down. 8-3 then 10-5 down. Ended up winning 18-14. That's a helluva comeback.

Cheers Shaggy/bluenosey :D

I did enough to have a reasonable start and managed to raises my hopes before the inevitable crashing out of the cup and sinking towards mid-table obscurity, just like most years. Why do I bother? See you next April :D

Coz he wanted to get out of Sheffield?

Why he was driving is a different matter....

It was a weird WC, and he didn't look anywhere near as good as last year, but that was incredibly brilliant, despite some bad misses. Last year he won every 1st session, but not this year; and while Murphy and Hawkins imploded, he wasn't playing well ie they lost where last year he won matches, with "won" being an understatement and a half.

If Trump could matchplay, rather than just show-off, he would have beaten Robertson, and probably Selby after.

Now that this has been consigned to the pages of history, I do feel a bit at a loose end. There's something about having to keep up to the snooker for 17 days in a row, knowing that if I miss a match or an update, then all hell will break loose on here & I'll lose all the goodwill that has built up over the years.

I need a new competition to run. I know there's the Eurovision, the World Cup, the Commonwealth Games, and while they're happening, it will seem like a chore keeping everything updated, but since I've had a couple of nights off, it really does feel strange.

I need to get a life.
