i think the last 2 weeks emphasises the point that snooker needs ronnie a hell of a lot more than he needs them

Re: 2013 Fantasy World Snooker - Now running
Put a bet yesterday for Ronnie to win by either 6.5 or 7.5 frames....to win £110.....him missing that black so far has scuppered it....so have just put a £60 on Bingham to win next frame at 13/8 to make sure I can't lose . The reason I don't know is that I can't see clearly the bet....it just says winning margin Over @ 11/10.....and when trying to register for Paddy Power, did say odds had just changed and not sure frames adjusted as Ronnie had just won the 3rd frame. If frames was adjusted, then would have gone to 7.5.
My worst scenario is £2.50 down.....my best is a profit of just over £200 and that's a may be if Bingham wins next frame and Ronnie wins the next after...if Ronnie wins next frame tonight, I get a nice £50 profit from both bets including the losing £60 and that's for certain....hedging them seems sensible....can't take any more of Ronnie going through the motions!
First time I've had a bet for ages.

I didn't expect Ronnie to win so easily and I didn't really expect Hawkins to beat Jinhui

Tense final frame here. 21 points scored in about half an hour.

Wish he had pocketed that black in 16th frame.....ended up winning £50 but a profit is better than none at all

O'Sullivan v Trump Semi
Wow, that's a mouth watering prospect.
and if Walden goes through that's three flair players in the last four

Although it's quite possible mathematically to have 3 out of the 4 semi-finalists, no-one in the whole competition has more than 2

Looks like I'm playing Shaggy in the semis and given the form of Ronnie I don't have a chance in hell of making the final!

Re: 2013 Fantasy World Snooker - Now running
3 QFists and I only rose from 51st to 40th.
I know the points system is the same for everyone but it is gutting to have a player get through and then score negative points when getting knocked out in a fairly close game.

OK. Knulpuk has 0 players, polarbear has Ricky Walden.
I have Ronnie & Surprised has Barry Hawkins & Ricky Walden (who play each other, therefore a big +ve score between the 2).
Should be polarbear v Surprised in the final.
... and Ronnie has announced his retirement. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/snooker/22376834" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

My 2 will just take points from each other so I will end up with a small score.

Which would be quite apt, as these two are top of the FISO legaue and quite a bit clear.Shaggy365 wrote:OK. Knulpuk has 0 players, polarbear has Ricky Walden.

I nearly had a bet on Walden at the start of the tourny but went Michael White instead Joe Johnson never won a match at the Crucible until 1986, then look what happened. Lightning may strike twice in the unorthodox but very fluent style of Walden.
I don't know much about Hawkins - Surprised has done well to pick him out

For goodness sake, just heard Ronnie on the radio and it was back to his old mentality.
He's brilliant to watch. Such a natural. Mind you, with genius there's always a fatal flaw or two.
Anyone of the four remaining will be a worthy champ. There's no baddie figure left for me this year, no Higgins, Murphy or Edbon so I wish all four all of the best.
And our four FISO semi finalists

Re: 2013 Fantasy World Snooker - Now running
Where is the challenge for Ronnie?
Maybe playing left-handed could do something, but there is little motivation from having someone to beat - which is probably why he hasn't won more WC's. Everyone knows he is the best player ever to grace the game, and he doesn't have the fire and motivation to keep proving it like Hendry did.

I think Trump will expose Ronnie's flaws in the semi, simply by putting him under pressure.

fantastic final frame yesterday between murphy and trump. proof that "tactical play" does not have to be the same as "slow play".
o'sullivan is clearly a fantastic player and i do enjoy watching him, but already fed up with him playing the "tortured genius, snooker is so difficult for me" card (and something about him saying he needed the money to pay for his kids school has really annoyed me!) so hope trump can beat him in the semi - if not i think he'll have enough to beat whoever comes trhough the bottom half of the draw...

He won't retire as he is an attention junkie. he thrives on being in the limelight and his constant whining sadly gets him the media attention he loves from the media whores.
