Think Karlovic was equally impressive against Verdasco.

He only has the one shot though, so I suspect Roger may still beat him.

7-6-6-7 7-6 6-4 to Federer. Thats my prediction.

I dont think Karlovic can break Federer, so its tie breaks pretty much all the way.

Federer will get Number 1 next Monday by winning Wimbledon
Murray will miss out by 5 Points !!!

However due to the calendar being earlier in 08(because of the Olympics)
Nadal will lose points for Masters events on July 27th and August 3rd
If Murray wins Wimbledon he will be number 1 on July 20th when his zero pointer from last years Indianapolis tournament comes off (to be replaced by his 250 win at Queens).

If Federer beats Karlovic tomorrow he will return to number 1 on August 3rd at the latest (irrespective of what happens between now and then)

Have a look at Roger Federer's record in Grand Slam Finals
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Federer" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not only has he won 14 of them he has only EVER lost to one player

Nadal !!!!

Murray's problems on Monday will not re-occur today. He was playing a practise partner, the roof was closed making the court look slower than clay and his opponent was a clay court specialist. Murray will win in no more than 4 sets.

I think that the experience of the closed roof will serve Murray well for the final when the roof will be closed due to the threat of thunderstorms. This assumes that it will be open for the remainder of his opponents games, which means the other semi is first on Friday.....

Today or Wimbledon....both unlikely IMO

Murray demolished him 6-2 6-4 at Queens only a couple of weeks ago

Murray will hammer ferrero today. Queens being the best indicator.
Murray seems to struggle against wawrinka, only just being ahead in the h2h. He doesn't like playing his bessie mate

It will be a murray fed final i'm pretty sure now, although roddick could still cause a little upset.
Muray will struggle in the ifnal i reckon. Fed looks imperious, and the pressue will get to murray.
If he gets to the final here i think a good draw at the US could see him win it this year. Definitely his best chance is the Us, and i can't see him winning wimbledon until he's taken a major elsewhere

I agree with that. I'd also add that I see Del Potro as more of a threat in future tournaments than Djokovich. I dont rate Djokovich at all & feel that he's found his limit after bursting onto the scene & winning a slam.

Murray is all hype... He's like a less powerful version of Andy Roddick. :?

Juan Carlos Ferrero looks kind of like Francesco TOTTI...

How about Ivo Karlovic & Fabrice Santoro

Seriously though Murray is anything but all hype now. He's world No3 & reached a grand slam final.

I reckon Murray will be praying Roddick wins this! Roddick is all serve and no much else and Murray would do to him what Roger did to Karlovic! Hewitt is a grinder and that would be an excellent match although I'd expect Murray to win that too!

I agree with all of this. I think Fed will beat Murray in 4 sets in the final. I put money on Roddick to reach the final at 4.9 (I think) on Betfair, so even if Murray loses, I still get something out of it. On form so far though, it should be a Fed-Murray final.

Will be!! Roddick is all about serve and Murray is in top 3 returners in the game. Hewitt, a very good returner also, broke Roddick quite a few times and had numerous other chances too, so I reckon Murray will win in straight sets, 4 at most!

Federer is now going to be number 1 again

1 ) Next Monday if he wins Wimbledon
2 ) On 27th of july if Federer doesn't win the tournament, and neither does Murray
3 ) On August 3rd if Murray wins the tournament

Murray will still spend two weeks as number 1 (between the 20th of July and the 3rd of August) if he wins the tournament

Well at least Murray was spared a Fed drubbing. Had a feeling Rod would beat him. Can't argue with Murray's passion and determination but for me his serve let's him down, very weak second serve which put pressure on his 1st serve hence the low 1st serve % in. Seemed to be quite defensive from the baseline too, I doubt he had more than a handful of baseline winners.

More British overhype for a Wimbledon winner passes us by.

But the US open may be his best bet......

A nonsense a bit like Casey getting to World No 3 in the golf having won no majors only MM events.

Nadal would still be at 1 if he had not missed 2 months with an injury

Federer avoiding Murray deliberately in a smaller event

That would explain losing a 51 lead in third set

Murray is playing Tsonga (who is injured ) for a shot at World Number 2

In golf though, Tiger wins nearly half the majors and a lot of the others are won by one-hit wonders really. It would be crazy to put players who have won a major but sod all else in the top three - guess they have to reward consistency. Tennis on the other hand I do think gives too much weighting to minor tournaments, though the system is not as bad in the men's game as the women's (remember Serena Williams' "world number two" interview at Wimbledon?)

No 2 in the world, what a joke. He needs to show more aggression and make things happen instead of waiting for his opponent to make a mistake. He has lost in all the slams this year to people he should be able to beat.

In the Main events Murray has lost to the following 4 Top Players

Verdasco,Gonzalez,Roddick and Cilic

Not once to Federer,Nadal or Djokovic

Oh yes after his win last night Nadal has rightfully reclaimed the World
Number 2

I think Murray will be the first to admit that he only got to No 2 because of Nadal being injured. He has the abilility to be No 1 but there still seems to be something lacking in the majors, somehow Fed or Nad would have found a way of winning that sort of match when not on form.
