Khan vs Canelo - Does he have a hope?

Post by el_cee »

Looking forward to this one, probably because I haven't seen Khan in a while but does anything think he stands a chance?

Likely to be at a big weight disadvantage come fight night but can he make up for it with speed? Would like to think so but I can see him getting KO'd within 4 rounds in truth.

Anyone got a clue what time this fight is likely to start and who is on the undercard?

Undercard will contain:

David Lemieux’s comeback fight vs Glen “Jersey Boy” Tapia.
Mauricio “El Maestro” Herrera vs Frankie “Pitbull” Gomez
Patrick Teixeira vs Curtis “Showtime” Stevens
Diego De La Hoya vs Rocco Santomauro
Jason Quigley vs James De la Rosa

Looking at 3am - 4am GMT for the start of Khan's fight.

Much appreciated. I wonder whether de la Hoya is as good as his cousin!

Only time will tell, but Oscar always fell short against the the top of the tree with defeats to Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Bernard Hopkins, Shane Mosley * 2, Felix Trinidad.

Did anyone watch the fight on the weekend? Khan was always going to get beat and it was a matter of time before Canelo connected and Khan went down.

Now he is after a fight with Garcia and again the result will be Khan KO.

Wonder how far his stock will drop before he decides to fight Brook and gets KO in that fight as well.

Now a fight I would love to see is Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin.

Seems the pundits thought he was winning but the judges didn't agree, at the point he was knocked out. He's always had a suspect chin though, so moving up in weight was unlikely to come off.

He's been a pro since a very young age, hard to believe he's still under 30, so can't have much left in the tank. He and Brook clearly don't want to fight each other now anyway, suspect one more defeat will be the end of the road for him.
