Re: Next Gig you are going to go to...........
Been an awesome week for me with two fantastic gigs.
Future Islands last week in Brighton was superb. Such a good live band, awesome sound, great show...I could never do the band justice. They are a must see.
Deftones last Saturday at the Ally Pally in London was almost as good. My fist time seeing them at their own show rather than at a festival - brilliant stuff! Great energy and the venue was absolutely rocking. I couldn't have asked for a better set list either.
It's been a bloody good week.

Going to see Everything Everything at Hebden Bridge Trades Club. Big band, small venue, should be great.

Over a year since I posted in this thread, I know my gigs have dried up and I’m sure I’ve seen some during this time.
Anyway, saw Roger Waters last night. Absolutely phenomenal. He’s just on another planet to anyone else.
A load of Floyd classics, about half a dozen off his most recent album. 2.5hrs. Amazing videos, inflatables and a 3-D Battersea Power station... oh, and loads of trump bashing. Sensational. More than compensated for missing the England game.

She’s actually done some really good, non-pop stuff (or maybe it was just a handful of tracks). So I thought small gig, the girl can obviously sing... give it a whirl.
Sadly it was like a really bad karaoke bar (all karaoke bars are bad IMO).

Got Eminem coming up Sunday week, the day of the WC final!, the pitfalls of not checking your diary.
Been a busy last couple of weeks, after the Stones at West Ham, seen Libertines, Manics, and had my ears blown out by My Bloody Valentine, all at Robert Smiths festival.
Just last Monday saw Bullet For My Valentine do a short set at HMV London, a new album promotion, sadly, they are turning into Linkin Park.
Not that I don't dislike LP, but they do it better.

Saw Peter Hook and the Light at Rock City a couple of weeks ago.
Playing Republic and Technique. Usual format - they support themselves with a set of Joy division covers (plus Ceremony), play the two albums from start to finish, followed by an encore:
World in Motion - True Faith - Temptation - LWTUA. Now thats an encore

I saw them do the same set in Leeds, early February.
Superb.
Technique always brings back some fantastic memories of a particularly excellent summer in the South of France as an 18 year old.

Suede at Manchester Albert Hall on Good Friday. Unusually I'm hoping they play loads of stuff from the last album.

I had tickets but swopped then for Bristol when they added that venue. My standing days are over so I’ve got a seat.raoul wrote:Muse. June 1st. London.

Muse are my favourite band. Saw them at the Royal Albert Hall charity gig in December and they played Showbiz, I was bouncing for days. Seen them on last two tours, the Drones stage was incredible. This is supposedly even better so it’s gonna be

saw them a couple of years ago at Nottingham Splendour festival. Played Sit Down for the first time for years - playing to the festival crowd. Didn't know a lot of the new songs but Tim Booth's still as mesmerising as ever.
Saw them at Rock City around 1990/91 and at the Powerhouse in Birmingham probably a couple of years before that. Great gigs at 2 great venues.

You are in for an absolute treat! The live show is incredible. One of the most important bands around at the moment; they are definitely destined for massive things.foxinthebox2001 wrote: ↑05 Mar 2019, 09:56 Managed to get tickets for Idles at the Electric Ballroom, Camden on April 4th.

They were actually quite good playing their own stuff, with 4 guitars, a synth and a trumpet playing pianist, and they finished with a couple of Pink Floyd tracks.
The best being Echoes, of which I posted a partial video on my twitter, and I know Zim is a follower.
